me VS. Ford Windstar (shame story)

holly cow those things are fast, 92 coupe lx, my mods consist of NOTHING, bone stock other then my n1 exhaust.

**this is all done at about 1 in the mornin with NO traffic! on the highway..**

ok so yeah im out coming from a meet up and all, then theres this van, with Cali tags on it, im thinking road triper's, so i do my little fly by and slow down, and all of a sudden i see headlights coming up quick, im like dayum so i hammer the gas and hes still gaining, he's maybe got 4 people in there, windows up, i got a friend windows down, so we slow to about 60 in a 65, and i give him the jump, i start to pull on him a till i hit final gear, and he starts to pull on me, so we do another run, in which im thinking, does he got a Hemi?...i give him a little lead, he takes the jump and i start to pull hard on him, then bam final gear hits again and i start to slow, he startd to pull on me AGAIN..my top speed was better than his so i got the better half on them, but damn, so as we exit the highway, we pull to a light and when it turns green we go, he pulls on me like nothin!....so yeah i got shamed pretty good..my friend, that was with me, was laughing his butt off and telling me that i need a swap ASAP, hes has a T-Supra, so yeah he can laugh at me...so dont mess with them minivans, lol..so i check on the specs, and the overall hp and tq was 200 @ 225lbs ---- 0-60 in 9.7sec...so i didnt feal to bad..lol..

I read on another board about a kid who took his mom's Windstar to the track one day. His car wasn't ready to race, so he did it in the van. He ended up getting a perfect reaction time, ran a low 16 (or mid 16... I forget) and he beat a stock, base model RSX. Not bad for a minivan!

They're not racecars, but they DO have some balls! Don't feel too bad!

swap, i wish, ill be purchasing a h22a1 here pretty soon, she's got the f22a1 right now lol, cause ive only had the car for a couple months, i was gonna start to purchase all my suspension things, but right now im saving for a swap, screw my suspension, lol, ill do that later, but yeah, ill have my swap within the next 2 months, i hope...

yea, my dad was driving my car one night and this punk kid in a roto rooter van rev'ed at him. my dad gives him this face like, "WTF?" he kept rev'ing, so my dad decides to go, they are both pulling even up to 60 and the guy still wanted to go, so my dad smoked his ass by a half a car length. but of course the ppl at HAN are hella h0m0s and flamed me for wasting gasoline in racing a van. (this was on city streets also)

my moms got a minivan, and sadly i think it will beat my cb7. never tried though, whats scary is if you floor it all the way it can sit thier and burn out lol.

yea serious, in my friend expedition with 4x4 turned on, it was wet and on a hill, they just sat thr peeling out and started to go backwards, lol.

I got chased by some crazy fuck in an 01 Caravan. I guess I must've cut him off, but he gave me one hell of a chase through some backroads and a neighborhood. Of course I'm nucking futs behind the wheel, so I lost him doing 75 in a 25, with cars parked on either side of a one way road.

Yo, check the sig baby. A Odyssey w/a supercharged CL-S drivetrain and all that CF stuff would kill, and look ridiculous in the process. Too bad they're 5' 5" and 4000#...

My mom's Quest topped out at 105 I think w/a governor. It had pretty decent pickup and the trademark older American V6 exhaust note, and if you launched just right it would chirp for you. Still SUCKED though...so many never ending problems.

On a totally unrelated note, I saw a Chrysler 300M chirp into second. It has an AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION...

Yea, the 1g windstar (92-98, I believe) does have a 3.8L 200hp V6 available (GL + LX models) My mom's van has one. The van is a 98 model year, and it has more miles on it than my CB7 (90LX)
But I digress...
Yes, they are high-powered, but keep in mind the slushbox in those things is a piece of shit. The tranny in the van is shot to hell, and this is the second one it's had. It's all highway miles, too, and we don't use it for towing.
If you want to race a van, get an old chrysler van, with a 3.3 and a 5-speed, or a Toyota Previa. The previa is rear drive like a car should be. Or get a new Odyssey, with a 240hp V6 and a 5 speed auto. Now there's a setup that would roll my car up and smoke it.
