Anyone raced an MR2

Alright well im still in my fase of choosing between my 2dr Accord(Auto) and 2dr MR2(Stick). So im trying to find the performance diffrences and see how I might be stacking up with other people.So if any ones raced any 85-87 Mr2's lately can you please tell me what whent down?Thanks alot guys

I know of someone that had a turbo mr2 and that thing pulled hard....its light...and mid engined....more than its speed, its handling dynamics is just so perfect

the only thing is...working on the engine is a bit hard b/c of the tight packaging.

I beg to differ, Handling dynamics are aweful....Easily one of the worst handling cars i've driven.

Can anyone say understeer? That car is just downright dangerous...

i used to have a turbo mr2 before and was able to handle its power... so for me it drove quite nicely...

Are any of you refering to the MK1(85-87)? Ive read that the MK1 are fun to drive because of the understeer, it forces you to be a better driver.And the fact that its a Mid engine RWD coupe.Its fun to drive because of its 7500 RPM redline.It tops out at about 120 and it only has 120 horsepower,unless swaped for an engine from the 2nd gen MR2 turbos.

If you dont believe that the handling is a bit troublesome look at initial d4 the movie when takumi ran it. The dude who ran takumi had to get the car sideways just to turn properly,stop then run it off the curb just to get ahead btw engines in the trunk lol

The MR2 or as i like to call it " little supra"...lol its a fast car. I have raced one before and it whopped my ass. Its a funny car when it comes to handling in other words you have to know how to drive her.
My question to you buddy is test drive both car and see what you think, look at maintaince, etc and make your decision from there

Thats a good idea, its gona take a little while though.My Accord needs some rims and tires up front and a new main relay.And it should fire up again.
My Mr2 needs a new head gasket and thats all I know at the moment because I havn't worked on it in a while.

Nothing in Initial D is real...Anyway those are the ugly lookin MR2 if I remember anyway (boxy ones) I would take a cb over it anyday.

Dont think of what the car looks like think of what it could look like.For instance.

Now just think of that bodykit with the black paint or Tow tone but with red or another desired color on the bottom.
