Damn Scion TC

Should I feel good or bad about this? I raced a Scion TC last night and I was dead even with him. Right now I have an H22...still with only a stock accord exhaust.

I did read up on a review of the TC that they do run 15.7 stock so....do you guys think its about right that I was even with him?

there nice. My friend has one. with TRD exhaust i think as well as a header/DP etc.

Which transmission are you using? I know nail05 ran about that before he ditched the f22 tranny.

Now that I have thought about it. I have easily beaten my friends TC many times before. Right now I have the h22 tranny on there. Do the turbo TC's come with a blow off valve? cause I didn't hear one. It did sound like it had a turbo in it though. his car was quick.

I believe there was a supercharged version of those turdboxes at one point.

Yes, TRD does offer a supercharger, bringing the hp to about 200, so that would make the race a bit more even.

maybe it was supercharged...but I haven't really ever heard a supercharger so I wouldn't really know.

sometimes you cant hear stock superchargered but still man go find that guy and check his scion out and lmk what ya find if supercharged dont feel bad there pretty quick

Most of the time a stock supercharger sounds like gear noise, or a loud drill.

Of course that is a supercharger.

If it was turbo'd it would depend on the BOV and the setup whether or not it was audible.

If he plumbed it back into the intake piping (which is very possible if those use a MAF system), then you most likely would hear nothing when it blew off.

Stock TC's aren't much faster than a well driven F22, so either your engine is healthy, you need to practive driving, or his car wasn't stock.

It didn't sound like that.

But the kid still had stock exhaust and the car was making a noise when it accelerated. Like he had something done to it. It was kinda hard to hear from the launch since he had his music so loud.

A turbo boosting will often make a ssssssssshhhhhhhhh or whistling noise.

If that is the case, I probably wouldn't worry about it.

He may have had a stock LOOKING exhaust too, or maybe he hadn't upgraded that so that people would think it was stock.

If that is the case, he was probably pissed off that you were right there with him!

yeah that could have been the case. We were dead even until a car came. I slowed down cause the race was over...then 10 seconds later it seemed like he had to prove something and flew by me.

I raced a scion tc with my stock exhaust, F22 trans, dead clutch, and shitty ebay tune. that was bout it. At most I got about a half a car or so on him. They do make supercharged TC. I think they run low 15s. They run the the same time as an 06 si.
