Got killed by a El Camino SS but he didnt know it!! lol.

I was driving home from the gas station today with my bro in the passenger seat, and there was a stop light ahead where an El Camino had already stopped. I see it's an SS as I roll to the light. I get beside him and the light turns green. He, im guessing, naturally accelerates fast. So, another light comes up, and when that turns green, I floor it(but didnt launch). I never raced an SS so I thought I'd be interesting. Im taking the car to redline and right when I get out of 1st, hes already pulling away. lol. Funny thing is, I dont think he even knows I was racing him nor do I think he gave it full throttle. My car is a stock 90 Accord LX with just an air filter(too lazy to put the box back in) and 8lb flywheel.

Didnt the SS come with the 350 correct me if Im wrong but most of the cars with the SS badge came with one back in the day.

Depends on the year.

In 1970, you could get the LS6 option for it (think 454 with 450 hp). There were plenty of big blocks in them in the early years.

In the 80's, the El Camino SS was more a trim package, and the car was still stuck with the stock 305.
