went to the track last nite

Well i went to the track for the first time ever. And i was surprised at what i got. I seriously thought i was gonna be slow and run in the 18s. I ran twice and both times i had a 17.1. This is with only a F22a4 with intake and exhaust. It was 100% humidity outside, so that maybe had a effect. I m gonna install my H23 manifold and A6 cam next week. Hopefully i can break into the 16s with that.

Here's my slip. I was on the left. I ran against this turbo civic.

I think 17.1 was the time given to a stock accord, test driven in some magazine or such....

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

yea, you can most def get into the mid 16's if you get your 60' down. also, you're r/t is over half a second, try and get that down.

my stock f22a1 did 16.6, you should be doing the same if not better.

It was hot as hell that nite too. My balls were sweating like crazy waiting in the pits. Well i ran this on some cheap ass tires and with some walmart oil in my car. I m gonna switch to synthetic and put the manifold on with the cam. Hopefully that will improve my time. Also i was surprised at home much grip my car got on the track. Usually on the streets i launch at 3k. But that didn't barely chirped the tires when i launched. I m gonna practise my launch and try and get my 60' time down.

dont use oil as your excuse because not even the most expensive oil is gona make a differnece in your times. the hotness doesnt make that much of a difference, maybe .2 seconds. i know because it was about 95* when i did my first run, which was 15.7, and as the night got colder, i got it down to 15.5, but it was mostly driver error.

I m not tryna make any excuses. What was i supposed to get if 17.1 is really slow?

Hey d112crzy, what engine do you have? And what have you done to it? And is there any tricks to get a faster time?

was up xczechboyx. So how much does it cost to run at capitol? First time I ran my car was at mason dixon and The best time I got was a 16.1 with my H22. I think theres something seriously wrong with my motor though.

hey hybrid. It was $20 to run there. It was my first time, so i didn't get any spectacular numbers. We should meet up there one day, i wanna see how much of a difference the H22 makes.

yea we should, that was my first time ever at a track too. The car feels fast though but it just doesn't show up on the track (in my case right now). I heard Mason dixon was a bad track to race at. Have you heard anything about that?
