    Touge CB7??

ok ok before the flames start, YES i am touging my cb7, and no i havent seen too much ID. Over here we have a decent lil mt. that i raced in my ek. I figured until i can get my hands on a rwd to play with, fuck it ill jus use the cb.. anyways i personally think the car would be pretty badass for it if set up right and we all know someone would freak if there was an accord keepin up wit em on a touge.. drag racing it is still fun.. jus not cutting it anymore. i jus wanted to get you guys opinions(all you autox and track guys let me know what you think) within the right hands the cb can be a contender. well... the rants done this more of an opinion thread so let me have it
But I'm still payin, so she still a ho. Why don't i just give her the money I was gonna spend on dinner, and that ho can get some groceries

    Cb7 for a togue race?

my god, even though i love my Accord, that would be my last car to togue race.

Horrific understeer and oversteer, handles decent but c'mon? are you expecting to shoot out of a corner or exit out of a corner with a chance to keep up?

Good luck, let us know how you match up...

Sure its possible. If you want to spend the time and money on suspension and setup. The suspension geometry on the cb isn't bad, and with work can be made to handle very well.

        ^tru dat man

the suspension is the main thing. next u hav 2 worry bout the horsepower ull need 2 get out of those corners. u see most of the cars on the touge are like 240's, silvias, skylines, 180's, ect.

u look at thier HP & TQ they make at the wheels ull find out that they have like more than like 250hp. if u can get that out of a cb7 then hav fun. lol. they hav an integra in drifting. doesnt make it very far due 2 the competition but its there. and its FWD to. but if u go the money 2 swap a sr20det or another RWD motor and tranny in there, ull hav them standin there like

Uhhh right.... Anyway you need to invest in suspension setup as mentioned and get your car lightened a lil. You dont need that much power since your gonna be turning as shit load. and more power in an FWD and hitting corners = spinning tires = lost hp = lost time = teh lose. A sufficient high revving motor will do you well to. Dont forget to upgrade your tranny as it will see a shit load of abuse if your going to be doing that. Oh yea an LSD should help with distributing the power to the ground also.

all comments appreciated.... i have been thinking about all these things, keep in mind im not shooting for a monster here, just something i can toss around and have fun. Which reminds me, how much weight (ed. guess?) do you save when the whole back interiors gone? Id also like to scare the shit out of a couple noobie 240's and what not scared jus to race an accord... i get all giddy thinkin about it... so yeah.. no monster. My primary "racecar" is probably gonna be either a lightened up Z31(sumthin diff) or an FC. want an 86 but after tokyo drift im pretty sure itll be even harder to get. Still, i plan on welding in an x brace and some teins, i already have sway bars the car jus needs some badass shocks and chassis stiffening. I might consider keepin the back tires less grippy so i can kinda "speed drift" it around.. with the back on shittier tires the frontll pull it along alot easier going thru and exitin turns...keep the comments coming!

Don't see why not, my accord seems to handle pretty well and I prefer the extra weight of the CB7 compared to the lighter honda's.

I don't have a mountain side to drive down :P but I've been doing private back roads for years and they are comparable to most of the touge courses, just not as much downhill or uphill.
              Hi, I'm Shippo and I have a problem. I keep buying CB7's.

well if u think about it wat car u kno in the drifting world has less than 200whp? think real hard and let me kno. cuz by far, i have seen BARELY cars out there that havent had a turbo kit on it. and if it didnt it had more than 200whp.

so wen u find a car in the drift world dat is runnin less than 200whp, show me and ill take yoga classes 2 learn how 2 put my foot in my mouth. lmao

As for using the CB7 in touge... it's possible. I would remove the AC, power steering, and anything unnecessary in the front. Try to eliminate the nose-heaviness of the car. That would help with steering issues. A balanced suspension would certainly help. Quality coilovers (Tein SS, Omnipower, D2) would give more control over that. Good tires are a must. Brake upgrades are also VERY important.

I would love to try it myself. Unfortunately, the only curvy hills I have access to in NJ are on and off ramps to the highway! h22sparkle and gloryaccordy can tell you how I like to dive into those though... and they only saw me at about 60%. Since I crashed, I rarely push harder than that... I never pushed to 100%.

What deev said. There are plenty of truenos and such running with the big boys with there silvias and such. Plus depends on what type of mountain driving there is the uphill and the downhill.

IMO, with the right mods, CB7s can be as good as DC2s. For touge, HP isnt your first priority. Its all about your suspension and torque!!

Touge doesnt mean u have to be rwd, rwd is meant for the drift which helps, but ff cars go ahed, they do it over in JP land anyway with there fto and hondas other than the nsx and s2k. Like everyone said, its ur suspension that matters, and ur driving skills. I think our goal is to hit the turn wide and try to rotate the rear as much as possible in a controlled manner, so a stiff rear sway and i think softer sprigns in the back can help that. I believe RWD cars go in out in, so we should go out in in or something to that degree.

I think touge is basically rally but on pavement, and they have competition FF cars in the rally like the peugots and the ford focus family and all those other euro cars. Its just that people like the shock aww affect of losing grip and sliding in a rwd machine than the boring grip driving that the FF cars must do to contend.

to sum it up, make the FF car a handling car not made for drifting that much but for kick ass grip, and dont follow the lines of RWD cars since they have different lines to use than us FF.
