ive done some n drops...stopped it because it started to idle rough when id do them and as far as shifting urself i kind of figured if its built to do it own its own that doing it manually would wear it down so never did it...but either way i think it feels lame compared to when i get out with one of my buddies sticks. Couple weekends ago i took my buddies BMW 315 i think..the 3 series coupe...and i was out, except for the stupid reverse which i hate it was smooth and pretty quick!Comment

with the mods you have on your car you should have more than 140 hp. if i remember correctly 140 hp is stock power out put(on an A6). you should be closer to 150 with those mods.

dude he has an F22a1 with a F22a6 lower intake mani and H23 upper plenum.....hence his car being an LX and his title being F22a1/a6 vs kia or whatever! soo he doesnt have 140bhp...more like 125bhp+ his mods which wont put him too high......Originally posted by sulimed
i give him credit, for acknowledging the kia and its potential and them admitting to it keeping up...ive lost MANY races to lesser cars IMO, but i rather not say anything,...... and he is right about the P-W ratio...cant do much when the cars are almost identical in those aspects and both autos.... so there isnt anyway the outcome could have differed...unless he: didnt race at all, or had a 5spd or H22 or PSI or whatever! sheesh.....

YEah it should surge to right about 5-6 but not after six. Basically you lose more power after 6 that if you shifted lower. Two guys here boosted always shift 6000rpm tops and I've seen the dyno from one he always did 6k even. I've manualy shifted mine as well no problems really but since full throttle shifts to 6k exactly I only really put it back to 3rd on the highway when I need too. I ran somewhere around a 2000 prelude auto (vtec, not sure if it would be h22 or f22b) and he was shifting manually and I pulled the whole way. I knew he was holding his car till redline and that last 500rpms wasn't helping him. Find a good road and just fool with your transmission shift points. You'll notice that the last 5-700rms till redline take longer to get there then it does from 5500-6000rpms. And when your car shifts it only drops back down to 4700-4800 or so and from there it accelerates stronger from there than if I had left it longer till redline. Also, if you hit the redline and THEN shift you are not excelerating the whole split-second that your fuel cut is stopping you.Originally posted by 93EXaesthetic
Now on the highway I might leave it in third gear to get to just over 100mph because of the rediculously long fourth gear not doing so well against our bad aroedynamics. O.o doesn't make total sense but in driving it works well. Have done 105 actually in third cause I forgot to put it in 4rth haha, but the last 100-105 came pretty slowly. 100 is about 6100-6300rpms (with my tire size at least.)Comment

Nice that you posted some facts about your/his car.
As for not doing as good at high speeds 1:the rio is a tiny car 2: our car aerodynamics rather suck at even highway speeds. Also, his car is newer and lower mileage, so his hp is gonna be closer to factory claim, where as yours may not be as much because of build up in the intake manifold or whatever... I know I've gotten my car running a lot better than when I got it from doing things to clean up the engine internally. I also run synthetic oil every other oil change and man it really does help anyways hopefully a little work and next time will be the last time he wants to run Comment
