I totally believe this story... because I was in IRC and 93exaesthetic came in and told me the story recently after it happened

Totally possible, plausible... and with those weather conditions, I'd put my money on the Accord anyways.

      and the winner is..............THE HEMI!

Not once, not twice, BUT 3 TIMES! I wet the road. I even switched drivers. The Charger still won. Sad. The "Myth Busters" should hire me. 2 out of the 3 times his traction control was turned off. I understand guys. If someone posts a story on CB7Tuner, or if it is written in courier new, then it must be true. Please delete this thread!

Truthfully, you proved absolutely NOTHING except your supreme ability to completely IGNORE the fundamentals of science itself. Your test was in NO way similar to what happened to 93EXaesthetic. If you think that it was, do you also think that all motor oil is the same? You must also think that eating oreos will have the same consequences as oranges!

If only I actually did get a real quarter for all the stupid shit I come across.

Aiighty, chill out. This racing section isnt for people to say that they beat one car, and they will beat them all. If you think someone is making a whole BS story up, close the thread, and chill out. No need to get worked up over a little racing story.

As much as I hate the cha-ching fund this definitely warrants a deposit. Anyone stop to think maybe the dude had a 2.7L Charger painted to look like a Hemi??? Also, again, if you've driven anything at all in the rain, you probably know that you don't accelerate too much when the tires are spinning...I don't care if you're in a Veyron...if you're trying to put any kind of respectable amount of power to the ground it's gonna get tossed through wheelspin. Plus with a MT car you can modulate the traction a lot better, i.e. through slipping rather than dumping. Finally, the Charger driver might have just been an idiot. Does it have a manumatic transmission? He might have put it in "4" cause the highest number has the fastest speed ...

In any case I see no reason for the threadstarter to be lying...he said himself numerous times that he knows there's no way this could have happened in the dry. Plus they prob. didn't go faster than 30-40 mph, aka tractionville...but LOL, R33's gonna glaze over this post and continue to call everyone 'idiots', like we don't know a HEMI Charger is faster than an Accord. PREEEACH BRUTHA!!!

I wonder why nobody ever called BS on my RX-8 race...

It's funny. When people post about cars they should always beat (like my race with the Z24 recently) they get PMs and posts saying "I hope you aren't impressed with yourself!" When they post unlikely races, they get BS plastered all over the place. The unlikely races are the fun ones! I WANT to hear how a CB7 came out on top against something more powerful.

Honestly, if someone has to lie on the internet, they're just sad. I'd say "congrats" anyway, in case they're telling the truth. There's no real victory in lying. You didn't really win, so the congratulations are hollow. Meaningless. Who cares? If you really won, then they're genuine, and they mean something.

For someone to go out and "prove" the situation to be false is just sad no matter what. Roads are different. Hose vs rain is totally different. Drivers are different. Cars are different. Situations are different (the original race was a spur of the moment thing, not planned like the "test".) The stoplight probably had paint lines, which would also contribute to wheel spin in a powerful car (I have a set of lines near my house that I ALWAYS lose it when I take off.)

If you want to conduct an experiment and use it as "proof" (nothing is every proved in science... just supported) then be sure to do it properly. Account for all possible variables and situations. Make both subjects as close to the originals as possible (which means you need lots of info). You just didn't have enough to go on... You have your own assumptions and biases driving your test, and that's never good.

I just find it funny that you had to go to such lengths to try to prove this to be false!
