    Me and a gsr

So last night i met up with this guy from a local board .
Me and him have both been wanting to run them for a few weeks now so last night we finally set it up. We agreed once from a dig and once from a roll. His best time is a 14 .4 with a 2.1 60 or something but his buddy got a 14.0 with a 1.9 60 in the same car. Anyway we lined them up and both got shitty launches
I pulled him about 1 car length off the line. A quick 1-2 shift (f22 tranny)and he had pulled his car about 1/2 past mine from there on we were dead even and he ended up getting me by 1/3 of a car or so.

So then we went from a 30 roll.We both took off neck and neck I shifted 2nd again and he pulls a car then I shift 3rd and gain all that back plus a car I had a whole car length on him till about 110 then he caught up and inched me out

Regardless I was extremly impressed with myself

Yeah get the tranny indeed and start losing weigth both on the car and yourself. Your gonna need that accelleration factor indefinitely. forget about the cams and shit for now what good is that if you cant get into your powerband properly

Very true about the powerband I got the car with the f22 tranny so i suppose I wont truely feel the power of this motor till I get the right tranny so itll stay in its powerband. Is there that much diff between a usdm and jdm h tranny? As in gearing?

I've run tests in my car acceleration simulation program...the F22 tranny doesn't really cut times down that much. Maybe .2 in the 1/4 mile, tops...esp. if you have to shift to 4th with the H22 tranny. My car shifts at ~35, 55, 89, 110 and would top out at 150...I don't think that's too far from an H22 tranny. Maybe my tranny's really short geared, like a wagon tranny...in any case though it's really not that big of a difference. Plus you save on gas on the highway. I can't imagine doing 80 at 4k for like a whole road trip...I'd shoot myself.
