    My 1/4 mile time

my 92 accord ex f22a6 5spd ran the quarter mile in 17.9 @ 77 mph. my car is stock with the exception of a $31 ebay intake. but i have a lot of parts coming in this week and next so maybe i can drop down into the 16's. (headers, catback system, msd sci ignition box, msd blaster ss coil, obx race wires, ngk iridium plugs, grounding kit, UR ultra ss pulley set, short shifter, h23 intake manifold and throttle body) think i can get 16's with this? next thing im saving for is some head and cam work.

Let me know the outcome once you put that one. My accord ran a 17.2 with shitty short ram intake and weld on muffler. Thats with everything in the car.

My friend ran a 16.6 with nothing but an exhaust on a 92 LX (F22A1). With an AEM SR and Ebay cheapo header he ran a 16.3.
The ignition and grounding parts really won't do that much for you just yet. They're basically "supplemental" mods, useful for supporting major modificaition. They're not bad, but don't believe it when you see a grounding kit gives you 8hp! You MIGHT recover 2 lost hp due to your old worn components. Good stuff to have in place when you do future mods though.

With a good header, a good catback (say DC Sports and Apex'i) and a little weight reduction, you might be able to break into the 15s.

I ran a 15.7 with JUST NGK 8 mm wires and a custom bent 2.5" exhaust and an autozone CAI and OBX header. That was on an F22a1 LX 5 spd.
"you can catch me swoopin 4G coupin switchin lanes" haha haha.

Me and others have hit low to mid 16's completely stock ... something is probably wrong with your car or your driving.

Mine hits 16.2 with a really really really really really... soft launch. If my rims and tires ever get here I can try for a high 15 sec run. Whats your mpg like? I'm betting your cat is backed up and is robbing you of alot of power. Either that or your just dumping the clutch and spinning all the way thru first and second. Oh yeah Mine is stock minus the things in my sig.

My post was past tense ... as in it happened when I WAS stock. My car is nowhere near stock. Shooting for low 13's in the next couple months. I haven't had a cat for about a year and a half... hell I don't even have an exhaust now.

Don't forget, altitude, temperature, and humidity all affect performance. A run at this time of year in NJ would be significantly better than a summer run in the mountains.

Anything could be affecting performance. Shifting too early, launchng too soft or hard, bad clutch (that's what's keeping me out of the 14s at the moment), lousy tires, too rich of a fuel mixture, restrictive exhaust, weak spark plugs and other ignition components, the weight of the driver (I'm 200lbs. Someone weighing 150lbs would have a slight advantage), atmospheric conditions, altitude, cylinder compression, valve timing (not all cams and valves are in the same state of tune from the factory, and 14 years only amplifies those differences!)

The list could go on and on...

Well you quoted what I said lol ... so I figured you were talking to me. I was talking to you though.

I know there are a lot of factors that could affect someone's performance, and that was kind of my point. Either they need to practice their driving or make sure their engine is in better shape before racing it. It doesn't matter how many performance parts your slap on there if the engine isn't in good shape then it won't run well.

In that case lmao after next friday I will be shoot for 13s as well. Not low 13s just yet. That will be after my turbo h22 is bulit.
Well back on topic I totally agree with your statment.

If you only hope for low 13s with a built H22 turbo, you'll find yourself pleasantly surprised

If you can afford a full build and a GOOD turbo setup, be sure to get properly tuned. Then get some stronger axles and a set of slicks. Look for 11s if you know how to drive. fast93accord has a built F22 turbo, and he's doing mid to low 12s now I believe... and still working on his tuning.

LOL I'm looking for alot more than 13s when my spare h22 is built for turbo. I'm having my buddy's shop build up everything on my motor as well as do all the tuning as he is the honda specialist around here. Hell he's only charging me about 500 bucks to install the h22 and that includes the new axles, flywheel, clutch and the chipped p28(????) ecu. When the turbo motor is done it should make 350 whp easy on low boost (8-12) and I'm hoping to make something around 450 or more on race gas. I just like to play it cool and not hope for anything too hot.

ok well i forgot to mention that i ran it in the rain. i ran again tonite and ran 16.92 @ 81.3 mph, 0-60 mph 9.31, 60' time was 2.5. i screwed up the launch and spun the tires. so tomorow nite i will do another run. alot of my things will be coming in soon so i will look to drop into maybe the mid to low 15s.
