93 "Stock" Accord vs. Mazda3

We were sitting at the light and I didn't think he wanted to race so I started slow. Only to notice that he floored it...me being the way I am, always love racing cars no matter what they are floor it as well. I hit second gear and gained some on him...by third I past him.

I don't know if it was his driving or that the car isn't really that fast...but I love seeing the faces on people with new cars who get beat by good old honda engineering!!

umm . . .the mazda3 is moderatly fast . . . 160hp on the 2.3 liter, not sure if thats what the guy had tho . . . nice kill i guess?

There are 2 models... if it was the 5 door, it's the 2.3 for sure. If it was the 4 door, it could have had the weaksauce 2.0L motor in it. Still 148hp, 135ft/lbs, and about 100lbs lighter than the CB7... That one would be better competition for the F22.

you can tell by the grille on the 4 door if it's body colored and has lines (2.3).....the base 4 door has a black plastic diamond mesh pattern.....and if you're actually behind it (which you should never EVER be.....)...the taillights on the 2.3 4 door will be blackhoused with chrome circle lining with clear lens like those on the wagon, as opposed to just regular lensed housings. also 17" mags versus hubcaps or 16" mags.

i'm assuming he had the 2.0. nice kill!

I have a 91 Accord and my wife has a 04 Mazda3 and she runs off and leaves my everytime. Her is a 2.3 and 20's on it. It not what I would call fast but it is faster than my CB7.

Yeah, the 2.3 has some major advantages over a CB7. The 2.0 is better competition.

I, however, could leave a stock-ish 2.3 in the dust (well, with one of my cars... not the other... yet)

I usually beat the mazda 3 even with the 2.3 motor. I guess those guys cant drive or something.

Can't drive, aren't racing... Who knows. The 2.3 definitely outclasses the CB7 in most aspects.

well I'm going for the can't drive part of it. If you go down the quarter mile just to cruise then somethings wrong. The dude ran a 16.6 to my 16.2. Next time we raced he ran a 16.3 to my 16.0. So I dunno. And on the street is about the same. I pull about a car or so.
