Anyone who wants to know how the SRT-4 came about. It was originally a Neon platform but has been so far varied now that the body is the closest and damn near only thing to be associated with a neon. I also remember someone saying something about not seeing any good times with SRT-4's. Just look around srtforums.com and find a member named SRTGurl. You can probably view her video of her '03 SRT-4 outrunning a viper in the 1/4, along with about 20+ others who are banging out low 13's and below times. Those cars are easy as hell to make decent times out of. in retrospect to the original race, I am gonna say the SRT should have walked him...why it didnt, maybe the guy forgot the gas was on the right. anyone can drive a car fast, even festivas can do 85 mph; its those who know how to drive a fast car that are worth something. I drove a few different SRT-4's and i have to say that they are a little difficult to drive, mainly because of their shifting. they share the same screwed up oversized rubber shifter bushings that all eclipses had and it made them impossible to fly through gears quickly. Now they do make aluminum bushings to correct the problem and then you can drive the piss out of one without even thinking about it. They have awesome top end and torque out of the hole to match, hence why they are rated at 230hp/250tq factory specs. a mopar stage 2 upgrade kit should put them well into the 13's.

has an '05 with nothing more than the Wastegate actuator mod, manual boost controller, full stock exhaust, hardpipes, BOV, and an SAFC II and dynoed out at 272whp/353wtq. Now for nothing more than 400-500 dollars worth of parts and to put damn near 100 lb/tq and 22 hp, you tell me whats better "bang for the buck". We put 1000 dollars into a I/H/E and get 10 whp MAYBE? If you're running with an SRT-4, you have a very respectable accord...and to anyone who sleeps on this car and thinks they have no real ability, take a closer look at the real specs before judging this car. They might cost about 10k less than an Evo VIII/STi and run about 1 sec slower in the 1/4, but take 3 grand of that and put it into that car WHILE still maintaining a factory warranty if you use all MOPAR upgrades and congrats, you now have the ability of making that guy who just spent 31k on his Evo pissed off he "Cant even beat a Neon".
