Anyone who wants to know how the SRT-4 came about. It was originally a Neon platform but has been so far varied now that the body is the closest and damn near only thing to be associated with a neon. I also remember someone saying something about not seeing any good times with SRT-4's. Just look around srtforums.com and find a member named SRTGurl. You can probably view her video of her '03 SRT-4 outrunning a viper in the 1/4, along with about 20+ others who are banging out low 13's and below times. Those cars are easy as hell to make decent times out of. in retrospect to the original race, I am gonna say the SRT should have walked him...why it didnt, maybe the guy forgot the gas was on the right. anyone can drive a car fast, even festivas can do 85 mph; its those who know how to drive a fast car that are worth something. I drove a few different SRT-4's and i have to say that they are a little difficult to drive, mainly because of their shifting. they share the same screwed up oversized rubber shifter bushings that all eclipses had and it made them impossible to fly through gears quickly. Now they do make aluminum bushings to correct the problem and then you can drive the piss out of one without even thinking about it. They have awesome top end and torque out of the hole to match, hence why they are rated at 230hp/250tq factory specs. a mopar stage 2 upgrade kit should put them well into the 13's.

    This guy:
    http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130478
has an '05 with nothing more than the Wastegate actuator mod, manual boost controller, full stock exhaust, hardpipes, BOV, and an SAFC II and dynoed out at 272whp/353wtq. Now for nothing more than 400-500 dollars worth of parts and to put damn near 100 lb/tq and 22 hp, you tell me whats better "bang for the buck". We put 1000 dollars into a I/H/E and get 10 whp MAYBE? If you're running with an SRT-4, you have a very respectable accord...and to anyone who sleeps on this car and thinks they have no real ability, take a closer look at the real specs before judging this car. They might cost about 10k less than an Evo VIII/STi and run about 1 sec slower in the 1/4, but take 3 grand of that and put it into that car WHILE still maintaining a factory warranty if you use all MOPAR upgrades and congrats, you now have the ability of making that guy who just spent 31k on his Evo pissed off he "Cant even beat a Neon".

          maybe 1/2 srt-4 and 1/2 neon?

half the car is engine (srt-4).. half the car is neon (body)..

like the front windows are power and the rears are manual

hmm maybe he didnt beat the srt-4 at all maybe the srt-4 stayed behind or mis-shifted or maybe it wasnt a race at all . The srt-4 was probably playin gwith you seeing what your car is capable of doin, another thing is maybe he just got the stick from someone else and put it on his car. I hear after you throw a couple of mods on there ive even seen it on a dyno the car will act up by pullin timing when it senses something wrong.

You guys are fuckin retarded... You dont even have faith for the the same car that you drive. I noticed that most of you that post those little smart ass remarks don't even have a car that is worth racing, so STFU. People on this site just look for a reason to argue. I have never said anything bad about any car on here, and you guys are quick to jump all over me. WTF is that about?

my buddy has the stage 2 upgrade on his SRT... its just the ECU with higher rev limiter, intake exhaust and different waste gate Im pretty sure...

the one you ran was probably close to his, which dyno'd at 238 hp and 301 torque....

those things suck ASS from a dead stop... he can NEVER get traction... and according to him 4th gear is the best

i ment imo thats the only way the srt could have lost. NOW i realize that could have actually happened. I really dont know much about the h22 accord that won though.

Its possible that an H22 Accord with bolt ons and a good driver could beat an SRT-4, but if they even had the stage 1 upgrade (Wastegate, injectors, FPR), that should put them at least in the flat 14 sec range with a bad driver. I am not doubting your story Hondafan but the way the facts are laid out, it sounds a little over the top. If you beat him and we're all just wrong, then there is no reason for you to get upset since you know you won and thats all that matters. However for you to get mad and start slammin on everyone giving constructive criticism and differing opinions is pretty childish and really will start makin people doubt your story. As for having "faith in the same car we drive?" I have plenty of faith in my car along with everyone else's cb7, i have realistically accepted the fact that we are not driving sports cars...we take economically driven family cars and put motors that dont really "belong" in them and then build from there. We have the ability of making our cars extremely fast, but its not cheap. We're taking something that was supposed to haul kids and made it haul ass. Now even though the SRT-4 is a "sedan", it comes factory turbocharged and alot more tuned than our Accords. The fact that you can run right with them is very good, but for you to beat them is pretty damn impressive. If you post something that sounds a little wild, expect someone to doubt it. But if you know you beat the SRT-4, then fuck everyone's opinions. You know you beat them, so why worry about others opinions?

Check out Mopar.com to see what i'm talking about.

Mopar makes "Stages" of upgrades. What i thought was their stage 1 turbo upgrade package (Injectors, FPR, wastegate actuator, map sensor, TIP sensor, and PCM) is actually their "stage 2". they sell bulk packages of factory performance parts that supposedly retain your factory warranty. Now depending on the dealership you buy the car through is gonna depend on what exactly is warrantied and what isn't. According to Mopar, you are able to reach 355 hp/365 tq while maintaining factory warranty. From people who i know who have already done them, some dealerships refuse to do anything past Stage 2 since the next upgrade comes with a larger turbo. They also have options of a small replacement panel that form fits on the dash of an SRT-4 called "Turbo Toys" for an intercooler sprayer, Boost dial, and another switch called "High Octane" mode where it will actually re-tune the PCM with higher igniton advancements to pull more power out of using race gas. Now talk about some factory options, if they had shit like that for us like a similar panel to replace our storage slot under the radio, that would be awesome.
