aiight, i don't know if you have read my other racing story, but this is about my friend that was in the car with me. he has a 2000 celica gts automatic i think its pretty much stock... anyways the next day after the ford incident we were driving along and stopped at a light. so of course, we are gonna race. i got a really good launch off and by 2nd gear i am pulling away. so as i go to shift into third, i mis shift.(at least thats what i think i did) anyways as i try to shift into third it locks up and won't let me go into third. so then i tried forcing it and nothing. so then i let it go into neutral and try again but by this point he has already got a good lead on me so i don't even try to catch up. at the next light, he gets a good launch and i had no chance in hell. the thing that sucks is that i know i would've buried him had i not mishifted!! so he always makes fun out of me now cuz his slow ass celica beat me twice!!

Try changing your gear oil before you do anything else. It may not fix the problem, but it should alleviate it a little for the time being.
