90 Accord LX H22 vs 08ish Trialblazer V8

Im sittin at a light on 33E in columbus pickerington ish. This lady pulls up to to the light quickly next to me. So I start off normally. She is nose to nose with me, I wind out to 4 k being nice and she is still with me, so I foor it and pull away squelling tires and all. Snap into second, looks like she is pulling on me for a few seconds almloust to my rear bumper. untill vtec kicks in and then I pull away. I run her up to about 68-70mph and then i drop to 5th declaring my win... And she hauls asss past me at what looked like 80mph maybe faster....



I won the race... Those things are quick. Glad it wasnt a SS vertion....

Well i couldnt tell you exactly on 33 cause I dnt know, I just know it was about 10miles E on 33 east from columbus

I dnt travel 33 much, Just when I go over to Nelsonville ( Just past logan) and was my first race/ encounter on 33. Usaully it;s just a game of follow the leader and 3-4 cars all doing 15 over just crusing along...

I messed with an SS once. I didn't realize how quick they were. I pulled, but I don't think he was pushing it as much as I was.

I had a regular trailblazer pass me, and the driver hit my car with a full soda can... then gunned it. My Fit couldn't catch up enough for me to even get the license plate number! They're VERY heavy trucks, but once they're moving, they're quick as hell.
I think the SS can run the quarter in high 13s, if memory serves me right.

I was in an active construction zone, speed limit 45, in the rain... 3 lanes were reduced to 2, and there was a large truck next to me. I was going 55 in the left lane, and the truck matched speed. I didn't care to go any faster, and I wasn't about to floor it to cut off the truck, just to slam my brakes for merging traffic. This numbnuts came flying up behind me, and tailgated me right away. So I maintained my speed. (the limit on that road WITHOUT construction is 55...) He started flashing his high beams at me, and I didn't move. I tried to slow down to get BEHIND the truck that I wouldn't cut off, and the trailblazer nearly hit me. Eventually, the big truck driver saw what was going on and slowed down, allowing me to get in front of him. As I did that, the trailblazer came up beside me, and chucked a full can of Sprite at me.

I didn't get his tags, but I'll recognize the stickers he had on the back if I ever see him again. A soda can at 60mph is as good as a gunshot. If my window was down, that could have seriously injured me, and caused me to lose control of my car.

Big Gulps from 7/11 work great for what I like to call "Highway Explosions!" At a speed of 70 or faster, you only have to hit the road in front of the car and the soda will literally EXPLODE all over the second car covering it in a really crappy sticky mess by the time they reach their destination. It also collects every bit of dust, grit, and bugs it comes across. lol

Nice take down though, I know a friend with a V6 Trail Blazer and it's not slow. I could only imagine the V8 ones.

If Im not mistaken....the LL8 inline VORTEC 6 cylinder Trailblazers are what...270hp/275trq.

I wouldn't say they are slouches....the 5.3L V8 is pushing 302hp/330trq......then you have the big ass 6.0L V8 ( SS trim )...thats pushing 395hp/400trq...

despite the weight...all 3 trailblazers are NOT slow for what they are.

I'd love to have one!

As for the big gulp... yeah, if the driver you do that to loses control and crashes, killing themselves or someone else... you WILL be convicted of manslaughter.

Yes you are correct the SS for a suv is nasty. Mid to high 13's is what there exspected to do. Hince why i said I was glad it wasnt a SS....

Off the line or from a roll if you have a H22 swap with H22 auto or (F22 5spd trans or better) I would exspect it to be a fair race and would put odd's on the accord. Im talking about the 08 LX and standerd non SS modles

I really wish i could seen the look on her face when i gunned it in first at just before 4K and she just stared squeelin and barkin all through the rest of first and a healthy chirp into 2cnd. too bad it was dark
