well...i'll just copy and paste the post...reason for posting is because i like organized events like this and being a midwesterner i want this event to pull through...so i'm posting away
"Alright. I know I'm a n00b on this site, and infact this is my first post here. I have come to ask for help. As a member of ITRCA ( Integra Type R Club of America ) I am invited to a two day track event each year where all ITRCA members gather to track their Rs, hang out, and just have a good time. I'm sure most of you have heard of events similar to this ie. NSXpo or national prelude meet. Under normal circumstances, the ITR expo is only open to ITR owners. This year however, we are experiencing a shortage of drivers. The event has been opened to ALL cars, regardless of make or model. We need at least 65 paid drivers by January 24th 2005, or this event is not going to happen. As of today, January 13th, we have a total of 35 paid drivers. That is 30 short of our goal with only 11 days left before this event is cancelled. There is talk that if it does not happen this year, morale will be so low in following years, the event may never take place again.
I have come to ask everyone who wants to track their car this year to sign up. I know this is very short notice, but it was expected that we would have many more paid drivers by this point in time. Here are a few details:
The event is to be held at Mid America Motorplex, near Omaha Nebraska. The entry fee is $315 if you pay by paypal, which I think by now is the only option. The event will take place on Memorial Day weekend 2005, that's May 28th and 29th. There will be a banquet for drivers and guests on the 28th, guests pay $35 for the banquet. If you are not familiar with MAM, it is a 2.23 mile course with 15 turns. There will be a caravan of ITRs leaving the Chicago-land area, and there is a good chance that we we will be meeting up with the East coast caravans as well. I'm not sure if you've ever been part of an event like this, but to see approximately 50 of the same car driving down the interstate together is something in itself. Expo 4 last year was a blast, one of the best times I've ever had. Hopefully Expo 5 will be even better, but we are going to need your help. If you have a trackable car, and would like to sign up for this event, please do so. More information can be had by viewing the following link: http://itrca.com/events/expo5.php
I would like to thank you for reading this post, and if you have any questions you can direct them to me on AIM: hatchback4life83
Thanks,
pete"
