Where do you rev to do a drag start?

I get it to about 4,500 or so. Under normal driving like 2-3. I was also wondering: sometimes when I do really quick starts, like a drag style I spin tire. I'm not sure if it's due to the manual (it's my first one) or the clutch pressure. Sometimes it's fine...others it spins. I think it's letting off too quick. Once, I did it in 2nd momentarily too...

Sorry...I didn't specify, I meant I started in 1st gear and proceeded moving THEN shifted into 2nd and it spun tire again after the shift . It's my 93 Accord EX coupe.

i drop the clutch @ 2.5k with my H22 and i barely spin (front tires ~23psi).

with an F22 i'd try about the same, maybe 3k. gotta use all that low-end torque .

With my slicks and a 75 shot I was dumping the clutch at 4500rpm and dead hooking.
