2point6 beat a Z06 a little while ago...
Don't forget, a car that is reported to run say 12.6 stock will probably run 13.4 with an everyday driver. Those times are generally the best times possible with that car, achieved by a professional test driver. They are also with the car running in top form... Give Joe Schmoe 6 months with a Z06 and I guarantee it loses a quarter to half a second in the 1/4 due to wear and maintenance issues.

c'mon, "close" with a z28. Z28 = low 14s, high 13s. Unless you're running an H22 with a 75hp shot - or a turbo...not seeing that as close . It may be heavy, but it's working with a lot more horsepower.
And as for 2point6, scott is running an insane setup compared to anything that I see running around typically - I love his car, and I'm not suprised that it could smoke a z06 with all the work he has done to that car. A very impressive machine indeed, for any car, but even more for my true love the cb7

And I didn't know Z28s ran times in the 13s... I read that some guy was running 15s in his mid 90s Z28... haha... what a joke..
But I'm sure its do-able, and I have faith in Deever than one day he'll do it.

hey if someone has the money to make a CB7 faster than a Z06 by all means I'd be the last person to stand in their way.. for me personally it wouldn't be worth it.. but if the funds are there, why not? it would be a fun project.. if I personally wanted to run 12s, I'd just go by myself a Corvette and call it a day.. I'm kind of partial to Vettes myself, but that's just because I've grown up around them.. I wouldn't ever trash talk someone for finding other means to hitting the 12s though..
V-TAK FTW!!1!

lets put it this way, with the Z28s... I raced a girl (no this isn't to say that she couldn't drive, but this particular run was bad on her behalf). Anyhow, she ran a 15.5297 1/4 ET at 96.61 MPH against me ....now, that was with a 2.8 60' time, and.... she stopped trying at some point during the run completely.
Her boyfriend later ran a 13.9 that night, stock z28. (I know because I wanted to get her number - apparently someone beat me to this one).
