Yeah, I admit... the SRT-4 looks pretty hot, and it's great for the money. Still, in 5 years they will all be beat to hell... They aren't made to last. Even the STis and Evos will be run ragged, and they're built of sturdier stuff. .

Ummm...Are you serious!!?? Honestly cars these days are very well built...and surely will last longer than 5 years...especially the supermachine EVO!! It breaks my heart that you dont think its built to last!! Possibly one of the best cars built out there!!! It doesnt get ranked #1 out of sport compacts "100 best sports compact cars ever" magazine issue from this year for nothing!! LMAO......maybe i miss understood you...

I'm not saying that the cars are built poorly... Well, not the Subaru and Mitsubishi anyway (the Dodge is definitely a budget car, and does well for the price). The sad fact is that very many of the people that buy these monsters will beat the living piss out of them. (not to say that anything living, or resembling piss, would be in the cars in the first place... )

People who buy sports cars rarely buy them to drive to the grocery store and back. That's why you can more easily find a 92 CB7 in much better condition than a Firebird. Sports cars get driven like sports cars. Turbo cars are even worse. An improper shutdown or warmup, beating on the car before the breakin period is over, failure to maintain the turbo components, allowing the car to be exposed to too much heat... All those things will quickly destroy what is otherwise a beautiful piece of machinery.

There will be SOME that take care of their cars... mostly tuners like us, or anal people like my friend's father. Those types of people are the ones that are responsible for pristine Mk3 Supras, Mk2 MR2s, Mitsubishi Starions, 1G DSMs, etc...

In fact... look at the DSM as a good example. Tell me how many of them are in really good conditon now! Especially the turbo ones... It's not the car. It's the owner.
