yeah, your right the older neons are shit....the one i raced was the 1995-1999 model, and everyone knows those are crap...i actually do really like the new body style though.....especially the SRT-4 model, sooooo damn nice...that has to be the best and fastest car you can get for under $19,000. but of course i love my accord much more.

Yeah, I admit... the SRT-4 looks pretty hot, and it's great for the money. Still, in 5 years they will all be beat to hell... They aren't made to last. Even the STis and Evos will be run ragged, and they're built of sturdier stuff. The Neons are just like the turbo DSMs. Cheap enough for a kid to buy one and beat it to death. A 17 year old kid who gets mommy to buy him a turbo Neon certainly won't take care of it! Ok, I'm stereotyping, but I feel pretty confident in that anyway!
With a built engine, any Neon can be made into an impressive race machine. They don't weigh too much, and they have potential. Still, it's a lower quality platform than a Civic.

haha i just seen a VID on here of a 9 second metro, it was ridiculous.....but i have to disagree about the sti's and evo's been ragged out in 5 yrs, subarus last forever, and newer mitsu's are pretty damn good, but the srt-4 i have no idea how good it is, i just know its fast, cheap, and good looking. but im sure its reliable.

When i'm bored tonight, i'm going to browse around and check to see what Isuzu/Storm enthusiasts do to their cars. I wonder if it's even been done...swapping a B-series motor into a one of those cars with the engine was rotated the opposite way. The isuzu block looks about the size of a B-series motor......
If i had money to spend, I would buy a Daewoo hatch and shoehorn a B18C or H22. I dunno...i think those daewoo hatches are quite sexy....except for the front grilles. The tailights on those kinda remind me of a Toyota Supra's with the color scheme of red, white, amber.I need a custom turbo manifold built....

There's a decent looking Impulse around here... I did a little research on them when I first saw it. I gained some respect for the Storm that day myself! A Metro would indeed make a great sleeper. $500 for the car, $2000 for a rebuilt (and somewhat built) engine, and $1500 for turbo parts. $4000 and I bet that could break into the 11's... Still, in the end, it WILL be a Metro.
As for the Daewoo, just before they went out of business in the US the dealerships in my area were running a "buy one get one" sale. 2 cars for the price of one. I wanted to do it! The Daewoo Lanos is pretty sweet. My friend had one (until he totalled it... 35mph into a guardrail did it in). They would make pretty sweet sleepers... or better yet, fast and don'e up all F&F-like
