H23 Boosted CB7 vs. Pontiac G8

Me: CB7 H23 Big 16G Ported
Him: Pontiac G8

The story:
Driving my newly boosted H23 and running on a basemap.
I know it is stupid to run on a basemap but ohh well...
I know engine enough to trust to stop when I need.

spotted a G8 moving in and out of traffic. It had a low rumble and I decided to say heck with it. So I start him off, hit his drivers side window (it was down) and just gave off a little portion of the BOV. He got excited so we both take off..I kept right up with him all the way to 125 when we saw the cop, BOOO! so we both get pulled over and tickets...but I stayed right with this G8.

The cop actually was pretty cool, and says hey man do this action between 2 and 3 in the morning. Its 3 in the afternoon, so just find the right time. and we moved on with our lives.

My confusion:
Why would they call this one a G8 when I believe it is the 6 cylinder model that had about 256 hp.
the next step up G8 runs 6 cylinders356 hp and I find it hard to believe I kept up with that guy on a basemap. so not it...

back to 256 hp. if I kept with him, Im guessin my goal of 300 is going to be easily attainable.

6.0L L76 V8 (361 hp)
6.2L LS3 V8 (415 hp)

yah but why call it a G8. and I think it was the LLT sounds familiar. which case I am doing ok horsepower wise!

well cop said he got us at 115 in a 55. and he was a cool dude.
ticket #1 ($160) coulda gotten us for more) is for 89 in a 55
ticket #2 ($290) is for driving vehicle in speed contest on highway

I was expecting to get one as soon as boost was ready just not this fast.

cop even told me if I go to court, since I have an absolute clean record, I can get the speed contest dropped, he will help and gave me his badge number. and possibly the speed ticket reduced...

was a cool guy, he just smiled the whole time, and wasn't a dick!

of course thats what happens when you drive legit, welll kinda!

Steve what I thought we was gonna wait till I was tuned and run it this weekend. Never the less congrats man. Doesn't seem like you have far to go to reach 300 hp.

G8 weighs almost 4000lbs without any people in it, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the 360 or 415hp model you kept up with, especially if you are running ~15 or more psi on that 16g

I think he's only running 9 psi cause the motor is still only stock internals.

Yeah you should be able to at least ALMOST keep up with the v8 model. They're capable of high 13's stock if I remember right.
