a6 Auto vs 305 Monte Carlo Auto

Me and my friend with an 86 Monte Carlo have been talking about racing for a while. He has a 305 with a few things done to it. Nothing major (no turbo or anything)
So we finally decided to do it so we get going about 20 side by side and from that I would pull AWAY from him. I was like WTF?! HE said he could smoke me. And so did everyone else?
So we do it from a dead stop. We are side by side. We tried it at least 3 times and every time either I would pull away from him or stay side by side.
Just thought I would share this with everyone.
I have a stock f22a6 auto with a short ram air intake.

Well those Monte's are only 140hp from the factory, so youre matched in HP. The Monte weighs at least 3800 lbs, so you have a pretty good weight advantage.

PS tell your buddy to swap the heads and cam that thing, if not a 350 swap. Then he'll tear you a new one.

1986 SS Monte came with 180hp/225tq (stock)
1992-1993 Accord F22A6 140hp/142tq (stock)

I am curious as to the mods he had done (even though it's nothing major, he would have numbers higher than this) you should not have been able to keep up as well as you did.

^Opps my bad, you are correct. The SS came with the L-69 305-HO, which had higher compression, an alum intake mani, and some other stuff to give it 180hp. I was thinking of the low-compression base 2-brl 305.

Still not impressive numbers for a V8 these days.

I know. He told me it had 180 stock. It is an SS dale enheart edition. He has flowmasters on it. That's all that I know of. I have no Idea why I could even keep up. I rode in it and it didn't impress me at all.
