I had a 1993 Cavi wagon before I got the CB7. It was a construction car, beat to hell, and it had 166k on it. The entire electrical system went, so I chucked it and bought the Honda. Honestly, for a beat up station wagon, it was a pretty nice ride!
When I go to Japan on buying trips, I have the pleasure of hanging out at the local chill spots and shooting the shit. All the guys there are extremely respectful of one another, even the ones that have their asses handed to them are nice to the ones who beat them. It doesn't matter if you own a Japanese produced vehicle or an American produced vehicle. Its all about respect. I wish the American Street Race Scence was like that in Japan.
Yeah, in Japan it's about respect and honor. In the US, it's all about being the best. And if you are not the best, you do your damndest to act as if you were! Having others believe that you are better than they are is good enough!
I would love to go to Japan... I could never afford to buy things (at least not enough to call a trip a "buying trip" ) but just to see everything... I need to learn some more Japanese though! I know no one who speaks it, there are NO classes to take around here, and books and CDs are only helping so much!
Don't feel bad. I usually have my business partner with me to translate if needed. However, most of the guys over there speak english and they love for me to teach them american "slang" . Its funny as hell.
The closest things I've seen to Japanese street racing were tiny articles in Super Street and episodes of Initial D... Is it anything like that at all? (Initial D, I mean).
Yo deever, maybe i can help. Im a language minor @ my college, ive studied japanese before. Great language, and not that difficult to learn in relation to chinese and korean IMO.
