Over rated civics

so some may know that i just bought a 93 civic coupe, 5 speed, bone stock other than a short ram. so i'm cruisin around tonight and i pull up to a light next to a mid 90s camry. im thinkin easy kill. not!!! fucker pulls on me all thru first, then i speed shift to second and hes still losin me. i finally gave up at the top of second..... the whole time i'm thinkin, dam wheres my cb when i need it. civics are so over rated, slower than shit and not worth a dam, unless your after gas mileage

Civic are rated that way because they are almost a universal chassis. Civics stock are shit when it comes to speed, but throw something in there and you have a different story. Camrys are compairable to Accords, Civics to Corollas.

but this civic feels quick, i mean i did a 60-95 run today with half throttle in 5th like it was nothin, i gess its just not as quick as i thought.....

funny thing u talked about a camrys. I had a couple of guys in a camry roll up on me. me and my lady where in the car and she's not big on running, and I know what he was doing since he pulled up at the light beside me. they looked and i laugh and smiled and looked away my lady looks at me and as soon as the light turns green they punched it. i gave them a small start and I took of slow .the guy sitting shoot gun looks at me and gave me a smerk as if they got the jump on me and I smiled and smashed it hard. It didn't take long, the driver just looked over while i over took them.I had a smile and was laughing the whole way home. I love my cb and cant wait for my h22a.

i dont expect it to be fast by any meanin of the word... i bought this car for the mpg. but c'mon a camry??? thats over 3000 pounds, a gutless four, and a four speed automatic. i thought for sure my civic had the balls to at least keep up with that...

No way dude civic's are hella slow. They have lil baby engines in them for economy. The power to weight is lame, but when you consider it only has probly 80hp, a bigger engine makes a killer diff.

well the civic has 105 and weighs 2231, the my cb has like 130 and weighs 2900 (crank hp of course) thats roughly 22.3lb/hp for the cb, and 21.2 for the civic. they have similar gearing, yet the cb blows the civic off the road. just don't add up to me..... i gess you have to consider the cb has a new motor, and the civic burns about a quart every 1000 miles.....
