    CCR SCCA Auto-X

We had our points event #4 today. I ran in Novice Street Modified today again.

I had the following setup that felt pretty good as far as suspension settings:
Neuspeed Race/KYB AGX struts. Front struts set to 4 (stiffest). Rear struts set to 4 (middle).
40 psi hot in front tires
32 psi hot in rear tires

As far as auto-x with Nitto NeoGens, eh, I don't know anymore. I think that the fact that the NeoGen tire is all season rated does not help it at all. I really want Falken Azenis RT-615. Maybe the Hankook Ventus RS-II.

Still pushing through some corners. Clutch is totally fried. Not actually slipping, but it has almost no feel at all. 2nd gear grinds if at high rpm/shifting fast.

    Results:
    Run 1: 39.931
    Run 2: 39.062 +1 cone/second
    Run 3: 39.511
    Run 4: 40.407
    Run 5: 39.694 +1 cone/second

    Raw time finished 88/108
PAX time finished 96/108 (PAX is a multiplier applied to classes to "even out" the times, the PAX for Street Modified is not very helpful)
Class time finished 8/9 in Novice class. (PAX multiplier must be used here because the cars come from all kinds of different classes.

    Full results from the day:

Nice man, i had autox today and yesterday aswell. Too much fun!

Im starting a thread soon, check it later.

Im running Nitto N450 (and one right rear hankook ventus rsII.....) they are feeling pretty nice. Ran'em at 40psi front 38 rear.

Kinda short runs for you guys.... our best time was a 43.7 in a CRX...then a bunch of old VW's running 44.'s. My best time was a 50.1(not event points, . ) But i ran consistant 51.0 for my event time...

Anyways, good to see more CB7 autox enthusiests out there! Nice pictures too!

Unfortunately the lots we can get a hold of around here are rather small. I think the last points event held at the same place had a course record of around 23 seconds. And this time they had a bunch of semi trailers moved so we had a lot more room today.

Later in September though there is going to be an event at the Michelin proving grounds in Laurens, South Carolina on a lot called the black lake.
400x1400 feet of smooth pavement with no light poles.
Going to be a two day battle against the South Carolina Region.

I have been using the same tires I have had on the car since last September. 18k on them too. 15 autox runs as well.

                        That shot is absolutely CLASSIC!

Man, I need to get into autocross... though I haven't had good tires on my CB7... ever.

I'm buying uslspct's tires that came on his Fit tomorrow.

Nice pics man! You definitely need to upgrade to stickier tires. I recommend the RT-615. What kind of brake pads are you using?

RT-615 will be the next tires on there.

As far as brake pads, I have cheap ceramic pads from AutoZone up front, and semi-metallic Bendix pads on the rear.

I think I am going to get Carbotech pads for the front soon, because I just found out they are headquartered like 2 miles from where I work.
