Auto-X tonight!

Tonight I am going to be competing in a "Knights" series event with my SCCA region. It is called knights because it is at the stadium for the Charlotte Knights minor league baseball team, and held at night.

Anyways, I am going to be trying some different tire pressure setups tonight, as at my previous events I have run 35 psi cold all around with my 205/50/16 Nitto NeoGen tires. Tonight I am going to run 40 psi hot in front and 35 psi hot rear. I want to go outside right now and mess with my camber, but I am afraid it will be really uneven. Oh well, I have .5 degrees negative up front and toe is zero for daily driving.

Anyways, I am going to be heading out in 2 hours. I will post my results later. Here is a course map for you guys:

awesome man......good luck tonight. Ive always wanted to try autocrossing but i can hardly afford to just to work lol. Much less spend big money on tires.

Not that great of a night for me. I don't have exact times yet as the results for the evening have not been posted. I will update when they are though.

What the car looked like tonight:






Run 1: I was taking it easy to familiarize myself with the course. Clean, but slow run.

Run 2: Much faster, thought I did well until I saw the DNF board after I finished. Turns out I took the shortcut on the course and did not go around a slalom cone the right way. (Cone is illustrated in the picture below)

Run 3: I took the same damn shortcut, except this time I realized it as it was happening and then I tried to finish the run ok. I was sliding like crazy though.

Run 4: Pretty good run I guess. Car was still sliding like crazy. I probably was spinning tires through most of the course.

Run 5: Plowed into a cone. Car still sliding like crazy.

With the upgrade happening, I didn't want to make any major changes. Now that things are up and running, and my crazy workweek is coming to an end, I'll take care of it.

I want to get into autox and road racing myself.

hows the wear pattern on the front tires?

with that sway bar, you shouldnt be pushing that much. id soften up the rear struts and lower the tire pressure on the front.
