haha ok so i was driving home the other day and i was at a stop light and i had this subie "subaru for u first timers" behind me and i was like sickk..so the light turns green and i pulled up and turned into the right lane and let him move up then i played with him a little just for shits and giggles n i revved up on him and pulled once in front of him then he took the bait and he finally took off so i was wtf y not...and i pulled..shifted into d3 and was right beside him then i put my petel completely to the to the floor and we were even then the next thing i know my car pulled out from beside him at 65 mph and i was a car length ahead..then 2 and then i had to start slowing down(damn traffic) and so i was celebrating yet then i rolled down my window and was about to make my right turn exit when all of the sudden i herd him come up next to me and i herd pshhht....which right there yelled out TURBO!!!! lol...so i turned and was like damnnn i just smoked that turbo and at that point i lmao......but later i was like either it was a piece of shit lol b/c it was a wrx which should have beat me cuz i'm pretty much stock...or he missed a shift..or maybe maybe even he did the turbo install himself and screwed it up b/c it sounded like his wastegate was flooded btw his bov let off the air...anyway i had my moment of glory wheter or not it was a driver error or mechanical problem

The WRX uses a MAF based system to meter air going into the motor. However, the BOV is located downstream of the MAF. When the BOV blows off, it releases the air to the atmosphere. However, since this air has already been metered by the MAF, the ECU will be adding too much fuel causing the car to run temporarily VERY rich.
