okay, I just got into a race with a all black GTO in my neighborhood. we coudnt get a straight shot of a race for one ther were cars infont of us and two my valentine one was going crazy with KA alert, lol yeah no race there but I have a feeling there gonna want to race me again. I know the stock GTO are running in the low 14s to mid 13s and rated at 350 HP and 335 torque . now heres were I get worried. I got utmost confidence with my car, for one Ive raced countless v8s like mustang gt and now not the gt with the emblem, its gt with the v8 so I also know that they are running just about the same time as the gto. Ive probably raced 5-10 mustang GTs ever since my swap and havent lost. closest they can get was half a car length, lets say this guy is running a stick but fast gto, do I even have the chacen to even waiste my fuel? man he had the loudest v8 growl Ive ever heard. I know he's not force inducted. what what do you think? any support?lol if I loose this race, this will be my very first loss with my car. not bad though but dont wat to see the day.lol . anything I should know with these GTO? if your curious what Im running on a 1/4 mile I havet done that yet, not till spring. but I guess If Ive been killing a 14 sec mustang then its safe to say im in there.

The LS2 GTO does have one problem, so depending on whether or not the owner fixed it, it has the potential to make the performance hugely variable.

The IAT sensor in the stock location gets heat soaked, because it sits right next to the radiator. This causes the ECU to see higher intake temps and pull timing like crazy. I have a friend with an LS2 GTO and his best time stock was a 13.6, but when the IAT was heat soaked, it ran as slow as 14.3-14.4. The fix is pretty easy, and costs a couple bucks, but not everyone does it.

The heatsoaking also tends to only last for a few seconds once the air gets moving through there.

All in all, I would say your chances are slim, but I wouldn't venture to say they are impossible.

I love when the GTO squats in the rear, thats when you know it flies. They damn near can beat Corvette Z06's, I've seen that race...nuthin nice.

My brother has a 2006 GTO and it's the first car that I am literally afraid of. I jumped in after driving my car and the entire clutch travel on that monster is about the same as just the freeplay of my severely worn clutch. Needless to say I stalled 3 times in a row then I found out that I was trying to start off in 3rd and not giving enough throttle. Very close gears. I managed to cruise around the block and came right back and got out, never to get back in that car again. Big bro told me I can come and get it whenever I want but I haven't taken him up on it yet. I gotta get back in the saddle and tame that beast on a cool sunny saturday.

the gto is nothing like a mustang gt...gt's have what...300hp. That gto has got what...400? nothing alike it'll eat any non-boosted h22 for breakfast

thats what im hoping, I raced a moded z28 and I beat him off the line due to the fact that I remember seeing him spinning his tires like crazy like hes doing a burn out during a race,lol but U sure saw him creaping up fast but I hit the 1/4 mark before he passes me. so yah something freaky like that is the only way I win or if he desides to give me a 4 second headstart thinking Im runing stock F22 and beat him.

I think we confirmed that bro, all were talking about now is what kind of freak mistake the other driver might do specially Ill be filming it.lol, isnt it the GTO ls1 has 350 whp and the ls2 has 400? in that case I might have a fighting chance with the ls1, thats just based on the mustang GT ive raced in the past.
