Quick ? on B-series spring/retainer setup

i recently picked up a set of supertech valve springs and crower steel retainers. the only problem is the retainer does cover the full diameter of the outter spring very similar to the spoon setup pictured below. is it safe to run em like that. i plan on this setup making power up into the 9k rpm range
