    ac recharge

    how do i recharge my ac on my 97 mountaineer? i know i have to buy the recharge kit, then a=what?

    Where I work we've got entire AC kits for your car. Are you sure you dont need the compressor as well?

    Shit, at that price you might as well just replace everything.

    Its not that easy of a job... To make sure everything's done right, might want to see about a repair manual or something.

        ive recarged a couple car just buy the refergerent and the hose and connect it to the ac line and your good to go at least that worked for me

          all you have to do to recharge the AC is to buy a R134a hose w/ gauge that clamps into the port in the passenger side of the engine bay. There'll be a fitting w/ a black cap. This hose has a gauge on it and you use that to monitor how much freon you put in.

          I JUST did this about 15 min. ago to my next door neighbors 99' Ford Explorer V8 LOL. There should be a yellow sticker saying how much freon it takes. In this case his took 1 lb 14 oz, or 30 oz of freon.

          So he'll need about 2.5 12 oz cans for the job. It was already blowing colder when i put 2 cans in so I think I did it right.
