Getting it ready for her birthday

Fixed the bad sun visor, stupid patch job on the center console storage container, permanently attach climate control dial, replace clock (still didn't work...), and replaced crappy reman door handle with OEM. I also put in a new Wix Premium air filter, oil filter, and GTX 5W-30.

The previous owner, cool guy and all, told me that he had never driven a car without a voltmeter, oil pressure, or oil temperature gauge, so he installed the pillar gauges and an oil cooler. Stock Hondas don't need those oil gauges, but it is certainly ridiculous to take pressure away from the engine by sending it through a cooler. Besides, it leaked like mad! It had to come out.

See those NGK blues? Well, I had to get an OE cap and rotor plus those plug wires because the previous owner put some cheap crap in there thinking he was doing a great thing. Well...P0303 happened about 10 minutes from his house. Oh well, car ran all the way home, gotta love Hondas!

The oil temp sensor came out with the oil cooler, so the oil temp gauge was just sitting there looking dumb. I decided it would look best to paint it black rather than take it out. I hate holes with wires showing in daily's.

This car needs Duralast Gold pads and rotors all around, a good brake bleed, new tires, and an alignment.

Just changed out all four tires for Kumho Sense 195/65R15 and an alignment. A gift to my wife for Christmas. The ride is a ton better.

The car still needs all new pads and rotors, followed by new struts in the rear at least, followed by a clutch. We are getting an '04 Pilot in June, selling this in the process, so motivation is low, haha.

Minus the pillar gauges, I hope

            Thanks for stopping by, bud.

I am trying to figure out what is worth replacing on this car before it is sold in June. I am thinking that the master cylinder, new pads, and turning the front rotors. The SRS light stays on now, so I have to look into what's causing that .

Unfortunate that you have to sell it. The car looks like a great platform for a project or even a subtle daily. I like that color. I rarely see that color around here. If I do it is usually in bad shape.
That is strange that the SRS light is on.

It's a good car, no lie, and has been a nice daily for my wife. It's just that we bought it with so much hidden PO cheese installed, that I got fed up after awhile. For example, the stinking old clutch seriously fouled the other day and now slips constantly, so a new kit was purchased:

This will be going in on Wednesday, and the car will be back to running strong, minus the breaks. When we do sell it in June, the replacement '04 Pilot will be well worth the switch!

Well, it was time and she went for $2000. We don't need three white 5 speed 4 door Accords from the '90s. So, money is being quickly dumped into a savings account for an '03 or '04 Pilot. I am super excited to be able to own one, and will be using that a ton this summer for the long term trips into the Sierras and down South (Buttonwillow Lemons Race).
