    90ACCORDLXGUY: 1989 Nissan S13

Yes another build, lol. I'm going to try my hand at drifting.

The background of the car is at was my buddy's hatch that he had
throughout high school, drifting it for about 3 or 4 years. His plan this year
was to drift this car one last season and then hand the shell to me. Well the
first grassroots event of this year his SR20 decided it was done on the
practice lap so he decided to part-out some stuff and then swap everything
to a newchassis. So I'm getting the car sooner than I thought since he just
picked up a s13 convertible this past weekend.

The car should be in possession this weekend. Here are some pictures of how
it looked and what I will be getting, lol.

    2011

    2010

And here is what it looks like before the rest of the parts he wants are taken
    off this weekend...

    -5spd trans

    -Pignose lip [HAVE]
    -Stock fenders [HAVE]
    -custom taillight setup

    -fix quarter panels (maybe lol)

    Interior:
    -Nardi Classic [HAVE]
    -Racing Seat
    -Custom rollcage

    Suspension:
-Cheap/used set of decent coilovers [HAVE]
-swap to 4-lug (buddy keeping 5 lug) [HAVE]
    -ES bushing kit (maybe)

Holy shit....that thing is beat to fuck.

Guess you cant fault a free car though.

If your legit in wanting to drift your gonna wanna upgrade the rear end bushings....having the diff/subframe slamming around is only gonna fuck more shit up.

As much as a welded diff is easy....Id much rather have a legit 2 way....but I guess a harsh 2 way is essentially the same thing.

Also...good luck finding a cheap set of decent coilovers....240 fuckers charge way too much for shit....Im sure there are deals to be had out there....but not that many....Ive seen people selling semi-good ones needing a rebuild for 450+....fuck that shit man....but if your patient Im sure you can find a decent set.

Good luck with the build.....if you actually get into drifting your gonna wanna have extra money laying around....shit breaks often and tires can get pricey fast unless you have a hookup

Thanks yeah its beat but I know its history, lol. I'm trying to build on a tight budget cause I have another project I'm working on and I'm in the process of moving out.

So got an update for this...

First off I had gotten a pignose bumper and I decided the white paint just
looked too plain. Here it is about half way done.

            Photo1137 by NButtz, on Flickr

And then during the fourth of july weekend I helped my buddy get the rear
subframe out from underneath the hatch...

We got his car together that weekend but the hatch hadn't been put
together yet. While I was on vacation he put it together and trailered to my
home. Here is what I found when I got home.

The next day I went ahead and put the fenders on so it looked like more of a car.

After that I got the rear brakes hooked up so I could be able to stop it once
it was off the trailer. Now off the trailer and parked where it will sit until its
turn to be built. Also threw the front bumper on it to almost complete
              the front end.

Drift missle ftw. Makes me want my truck back. =( Datsun 720, swapped a dohc ka in with a 248/248 cam swap. good fun

Anyway. Those swirl wheels you have, do you know what they are off of.

I have a pair myself and have no clue. I found out they are oem though.

Anyway youd be willing to sell 2 of them?

Went out and bought a rivet gun from Harbor Freight so I figured I would try
it out on the 240. Got both sides of the widebody back on and it looks a hell
                      of a lot better!

                            Day 1

About two weeks ago I had a chance to pull the car into the shop while my
dad was gone camping. He recently bought a frame and body spreader so
naturally I tried it on this wrinkly thing. It worked pretty well for not really
                            knowing how to use it.

Then it was time to fix the taillight areas... It isn't easy fixing a
continously wall-tapped car, lol. Here is what I did to get it about 80%
                            straight.

                            Before shots...

Here is the outcome of the first round of pounding.

Ended up calling it a night after that, took some pictures before leaving.

                              Day 2

The second day started out with cutting the old taillight surrounding as it
was nothing but crumpled metal that could never be saved. This actually
made it easier to reshape the metal that use to be holding onto it. Then I
built another one out of metal I had bought from Home Depot. Here is the
process and what it ended up looking like.

In the process of making the surrounding.

                              Photo1385 by NButtz, on Flickr

After another round of pounding and welding the surrounding in here is how it fit with the taillight.

                              Photo1388 by NButtz, on Flickr

I brought the corner down to metal before I straightened it out and since it sits outside I had to cover it with paint.
