Im completey in the dark when it comes to motorcyles, but I have driven them before back in philippines. so I do know how to drive them very well. so since honda are not the most expensive na d not the cheapest but yer very reliable, what is the honda version for motorcycles? and no I dont want to drive a harley. not that old yet. 1. You will kill yourself on a hayabusa if you get that as a first bike.
2. Buy something small if your still learning and upgrade to a 600+ later.
3. Easier to learn the dynamics on a low powered crappy bike rather than a newer bike that will cost more when dropped.

Keep in mind that these little engines are made to push astronomical RPM's and as a result, the engine life will be considerably shorter than that of a larger displacement engine.
So, the lower the miles, the more chance that you'll get a more reliable bike, BUT there are definite exceptions.
The GS500 has an aircooled 499cc 2 Cylinder. It's ultra reliable and makes good power....not to mention, it looks like heaven.
lower displacement doesn't necessarily mean that the bike will make it either more appropriate or even appealing for a beginner.
Weight should be the focus, as well as preferred riding style.14 Ford Focus ST - stock(ish) - E30 Tune + Green Filter =

Kawasaki Ninjas are a nice bike. my first was a 98 600 that cost me 2200.
and my current is a 03 ZX636R, which i LOVE!
so yea, both were trouble free, and rode nice. the only complaint i had with the 98 is that the seat sucks. a corbin seat is like 150, and is supposed to make the ride more comfortable. the 03 is fuel injected and is a blast to ride.....
good luck in your search
