lol thanks...sound like me when i first bought it.

wish it was 6 speed but i'm not complaining, i'd rather pull 1.8 60' times right now than go sideways. i'll buy my next one 6 speed for a fun street car

I like em but i wish they held up as good as the Getrag 6sp does...the auto can hold up to 450-500 whp max. once you go past BPU, you gotta build your trans. Ryan Woon, owner of WOTM Motorsports, has a 6 speed street legal 8 sec supra...he dyno's 1400+ whp and has yet to blow his trans out.

Well I need to buy a quick release if I want to throw a Nardi wheel on. The adapter itself is expensive and the wheel is too. ON the subject of Ryan Woon and Cody Phillips both of them are the WOTM twins. I think they break more diffs than they do trans. Ryan has come a long way I still remember when he had his kitted RSP mkiv.

Had to search for it, been sitting dormant so long i had to blow the dust off the post...

I've actually converted to OBDII since then and installed a rear O2 Eliminator since my mod list in that thread.
Why would/did you convert to OBD2?

Since i'm still in sequential twin turbo form, when the 2nd turbo is prespooling, the OBDI ECU leans out extremely from 3-5.5K rpm range since the boost is cut back during that time. My AFR was getting as high as 13:1. The 96-98 Supras did not have that problem, because the OBDII ECU changed the fuel curve agressively and actually works much better, especially after your BPU. Even if you had a piggyback controller (SAFC, etc.), the computer would override it. It took my AFR from being ridiculously lean in that spot to stoich-rich (10.5-11.4:1). Helped my powerband in the low-mid range, allowed me to retain boost between shifts (no blowoffs between gears now, just keeps boost spooling) but killed my gas mileage of course. But hey, i didn't buy the car to go green with.

Further info on the conversion can be read here:

Why donto you just get an SAFC or osmething minor to adjust the fuel map???

Override what? The SAFC is a piggy back. People use them if they cant afford stand alone and seems that it works. MKIII people use it MKIV I have seen the SAFC in tehre but dunno if its actually used.

the Stock ECU will still lean out on an OBDI toyota...

SAFC are piggyback controllers, they manipulate the signal that is sent to the central computer for fuel control, however auto supras have 3 ecu's, one for central control (they are trans specific, so a 6sp wont work in an auto), one for traction control, and one for fuel pump...when the 2nd turbo starts to come online, the 1st turbo actually cuts back on boost so it doesn't "slam start" the 2nd turbo. when the boost cuts back, the fuel pump ecu lowers the voltage going to the fuel pump to starve the injectors and then the central ECU actually cuts the duty cycle back so that its not running too rich without the proper airflow for it. the problem was the geniuses at toyota cut it back way too much and it gets obsurdly lean during that range. the obdII uses a much more agressive fuel map and does not cut voltage to the fuel pump ecu. Multiple guys w/ MKIV's use SAFC's, but it still doesn't fix the lean spot, regardless of how much tuning you do with them. If you check out that link I put in, it shows dyno graphs with both ECU's. all results were proven by datalogging using an FJO Wideband.

Well that sucks. Cant you take off the trac control so thats one monitor gone lol. I see a lot of people take off the trac control on the supra lol. But interesting fact. That would explain why I see a lot of them in manual supras instead of autos. Well dont really see many autos and most the ones I have seen have the th400 or some sort of built auto with big ol turbo haha. Not so stock.
