Its just the easy way out =P hahaha. 1uz would be fun then mate the v160 on it since they make an adapter for it now that would be a fun lil ride. But anyway thats pretty cool you are staying with the 7mgte. It's an underrated motor because of its HG issues but it still is a motor with potential. Takes a lil more work in the end but worth it when you get it right. Plus I havent heard much crank walking stories with the 7mgte compared to 1jz/2jz motors running aggressive clutches when they start pushing power. I have only heard of 1 7mgte that crank walked compared to the other 1jz/2jz.

          I'm on the 1j train also...My friend however is going 2J single turb..
          7MGTE is one of the best motors ever created...So pushing more boost is always good for it..What do you currently have done to yours?
          I had a Red 89T Auto, MBC, 3" HK$ Super Drager, Lexus AFM, 2.75" DP, Cut Eibachs for dumpage, and
          17" Excels...



          then I had an 87NA auto that wrecked itself...Love those cars man...Will own another one someday...

              right now, I'm finishing up payments on the motor and swapping from auto to 5 speed(which is a bitch btw), still have a lot of parts to buy before she hits the street. My plans are 57 trim ct26, FFIM, 550's injectors, Lexus AFM, MBC, walbro 255L fuel pump, oil filter relocation kit, new steering rack, and I also plan to replace all the bushings on both the front and rear sub-frame assemblies. For exhaust, I'm considering 3" divorce downpipe and 3" back with no muffler(subject to change ) and Nittos NT555R 245/50/16's on the rear to keep some power to the ground. For now I'll probably shoot for 350-400hp respectfully until I can run mickey's and/or get either a 3.73 or 3.93 LSD rear end. Sometime between redoing the rear sub frame bushings and swaping in a different rear end, I also plan to brace up the cradle. For tuning, I'll be using an AEM UEG wideband and SAFC 2, I'll have a prosport boost gauge and oil pressure gauge...AEM wideband and the prosport boost gauge will both be sitting along the driver's side pillar via my lotek gauge pod. There's more to it that I may be forgetting, but I think I'll be happy to answer any question if you guys have any more questions.

                      I like reading supraforums. It entertains me =D. Usually I just go there, look at the photos, read the comments, read the flaming and drama, and browse the mkiii section. Its great stuff lol. Keeps me entertained.

                        YES!!! After I redo the suspension and tire on the MK2 my next big buy will most likely be either a clutch type lsd diff or the v160 (161?) tranny and adapter...those things kick major arze holz...

                        1j does not equal 2j...completely different.

                        So unless I misunderstood, you can't afford the rebuild? So did I read wrong? Are you going to turbo the stock internals? And were those the N/A internals that they boost on to get 600hp or the stock turbo internals? And...is there any difference in internals...I thought there was

                          difference between 1j and 2j is pretty much displacement and maybe turbo setup. No, a buddy of mine is too cheap to rebuild...my motor has ross forged pistons, shot peened forged rods, bored .020 over, HKS MHG, replaced bearings, new greddy timing belt, upgraded high presure oil pump, rebuilt head, all new gaskets and seals through-out motor. Those with 600hp on stock internals were turbo internals, as far as differences between turboed and NA depends who you talk too. I play it safe and either shot peen the stock internals, get forged, or combination of the two. Based on my research, the week link on the 7m's are the rods and most respectable supra tuners will say 400hp is the safe limit for stock rods(not that can't handle more, but for reliability reasons). Depending how things go with this motor, I make make it a stepping motor and use my spare motor as a full all-out forged badass 7m.

                              I pride myself on my old MK3. As the biggest piece of shit car that was, for my age and resources, I am DAMN proud of that thing.
