The good part about rebuilding you can probably rid that HG issue if not prolong it longer than normal. I would say rebuild it and go from there but thats me.

Well when I say rebuild I say do the basics. How much you got to spend? Thats another thing I forgot to ask. You could tear it apart throw some ARP head studs, thicker metal HG, and replaces the seals and all that great stuff if everything else checks out. Doesnt hurt.

Sounds like a good start man. That shouldnt be over 8k depending on what you decide to go with. I am thinkin about spending 4-5g probably for my complete 1jz setup. All that cost includes the motor, trans, ecu, harness, driveshaft, rear diff as I recall and the other goodies I am throwing on it.

well if you wanted to remain toyota engine, no rebuild, and add plenty of power, you have several options...lexus v8's rock socks...4.0L has 270hp...4.3 290hp...newer 4.3's I think are around 300 but I really dunno about those.
not bad for a straight swap, and that's pretty good numbers for small literage, but if it's the 7m you want then I wouldn't boost too much. I'm sure the n/a 7m could handle a fair amount of boost stock, but that boosted 7m has some different internals does it not?
My friend in austin has one of them thar bikes...they are cooool but I've seen a TON of folks come in through the hospital with bike wrecks...only one so far wrecked from his own actions...everyone else had someone change lanes or just hit 'em...I do not think I will ever get a bike____
