Impossible to find one of those motors I would say. where as a 1Jz you can pick up one from most any importer...and they were available in DOZENS of cars too...1500 for a clean one..whereas the 7M is something like 750 and 2JZ I believe my friend paid around
3k for his. but he got a whole Aristo front clip....I'm not knocking the 1JZ or anything, it is just that I like the M series. 5M 2M and 7M....
The JZ series is just too good though. But for the money, and
having a reliable DD a good ol 7MGTE with HK$ headgasket cant be beat. on.
Sounds kinda like agreement to me.
Or are you in here just to argue?

"QUOTE I just dont see why the fuck people DONT GET IT.
All the mk3's I have seen are 1J, not swapped cars. Sorry, US of A got fucked in the ass with the 7m. A lot of people will agree with me. You dont have to.
At the end of the day, my Toyota doesnt have a 7m. So everything is just fine.

LOL... I LOVE the Jz seires... like LOVE them...But on all but one of my cars, I was able to afford a JZ swap, so therefore, I like the M series due to the simple fact that I could afford it...lol....
It seems to me though, that with a few tweaks the M can be just as good.
BUT the owner has to be willing to do the tweaks tinkering etc. I did some of them, ALOT of freaking work..Not even really worth it in the end I suppose...
Duane Stephens car represents a PROPERLY set up 7M....
KWnates car represents a PROPERLY set up 7M. http://youtube.com/watch?v=36iGtg7o-WY
BUT, JZ gives more power/efficiency per mod imho, so the higher initial cost is worth it.....Dont tell that to Duane however lol.
On a side note, I dont see how it is about "not getting it"
Because the M is a good series of motors... there are just several flawed areas.
I daily drove an Auto 89T that got decent gas mileage, and made over 400hp.
BUT I became complacent in the maintenance and she threw a rod.

Completely my fault too, I didnt check the oil before a long trip...
Anyways though, Clueless sounds like he is going for a reliable mid power
setup. So for what he is talking about, a 7M will be just fine. """

I'd say that sounds like agreement also...I'm not pissed. I dont know how text can convey that.

Just some final notes and this will be it...any motor you get from any company who imports them, you have to assume they need rebuilt especially tight tolerance motors like the 7m/1j/2j. Sure you might get lucky and have a really good motor but odds are against you. Think of it this way, you wouldn't go to your local junkyard to get a supra motor to drop straight in, would you? Where do you think these company who imports motor from japan from? I think you know what I'm getting at lil_dcb7...no offense, but supra's aren't for the poor man(this includes people in high school as well). So you bashing the 7m is irrational because you didn't spend the money to do it right. For the rest of you, take it easy because if this thread get's locked, I'll kill ya'll in your sleep.

Actually it is a Targa lolz...I know of one in my area with a USC sliding glass moonroof (Toyotas "OEM" for MKIII) What do you need? I wont charge u for interior stuff if it's small.
The Moonroof models are quite rare actually....Is it a moonroof or sunroof?
USC made all the moonroofs for MKIII's.......And Sunroofs could be put in anywhere lol...
And theoretically, Dealers could have installed the Moonroofs as well, but at much greater cost....in 90 Sliding metal moonroofs are quite common...
Anyways, yeah, so what do you neeD?

The US did get screwed on the MKIII, however they made up with it on the MKIV... The JDM 2JZ has smaller turbos than the standard CT26's and smaller cams and actually equates out to nearly 40 hp less the US Spec MKIV's.
                  .

Ohhhh....Do you have pics of your MKIV for me to drool over?

I'd have to make a list...some things I need for sure would be arm rest, steering wheel, headliner, center console cover(mine broke), and possibly some other things.

He likes to argue. This whole debate is too heated anyway. Clueless keep us posted on your build man. Its always good to someone go agaisnt the status quo. Like Hondafan said, build, report your findings.

Steering wheels and quick releases are expensive.
