Explain your opinion, please, because this seems like a double standard.

It is the leftover perception that Gold chain wearing plumbers only drive Vettes.

This one puts up the numbers (at least it should based on the Z06), so it gets my respect. I have a feeling there will be room for improvement as far as driving dynamics, but it will be one hell of a bludgeoning tool.

I've never been a corvette fan. For some reason I'd take a gt500 over a z06. Don't know why, corvettes are very respectable cars with amazing value but they just seem to lack something to me. I don't know what it is.

        They lack creature comfort/refinement. Supposedly, but a GT500 is a serious step down(a couple) to a C5/6.

I was never a Vette fan either.

With the C5, I was like EH...

But the C6 is flat out, hands down, a badass car. Even in base form.

Thats like taking a Civic LX over an Accord EX V6.

              LOL!

I do have to admit that I do kind of like the retro flavor of the GT500 though. One thing about the Mustang, is it is uniquely American. The Corvette is too, but in a modern sense.

The gt500 isn't a car to me. It's like the traditional american vehicle... raw power, big car, and bad handling. haha. The corvette is just an amazing car all around but to me it just doesn't look it, I think previous versions are ugly, and the current one isn't good looking either. For me, nothing about the corvette's amazing performance is marked through the car. It's not rare, amazing looking, or even expensive.

C'mon now, Live axles have a place. Besides, even with IRS, it would still be a 4000lb car, with a foward weight distribution.

Mustangs are cool more for the "persona" which is why they have always sold so well.

Its probably not rare because its an american icon in america. Big suprise there. I'm pretty sure ferrari's/porsche's are not rare in Europe either. Not a poor man's/rednecks sports car anymore.

Which was why vettes were/are shitted on by elitists. I only see vettes getting better with coming generations. I'd say the Z06 is expensive and amazing.

Currently the only car I like better in that range is the new M3. Whats ironic is that I honestly dont think that this is the best that GM can do. With the CTSV, G8, etc they are just getting started.

GT500/C6 comparo is moot. Where as a 500 is overrated, a C5 Z06 was actually underrated in power. Not to mention obvious complete obliteration of the 500 on the track, they are not in the same class. The Shelby is a pony car.

Keep in mind too though that GM is chasing a lot of moving targets. They can do better, I am sure, and they will, but they have a lot of catching up to do too.

Like them or not the new Vette's are nice. Alot of engineering focus is being placed into them. Take for example they have no oil pan.
