    Although you can't beat the performance for the price, you do lose out quite a bit on interior and looks. A while back I looked into buying one, but it was the interior quality and ricer boy stereotype that really killed it for me. My friend does have a really hot silver one, bone stock engine wise but all kinds of styling parts.

    Does anybody know how heavy they are? If they came w/o bug eyes and RWD, I'd be on them in a second.

      Cant be much heavier than the standard 2600lb Neons.

            not to start any beef but i don't get it


            when someBODY else puts a post about srt-4 its a problem

            but when this person post its o.k

            i understand maybe ego can get in the way but everybody else can be the bigger person and keep it clean just like they did with this thread

            EDIT:..i'm not trying to start anything just wondering.....i'm a little confuse...like always i'm not taking anybodies side just my own

              Also, most stock SRT-4's I have seen run somewhere between 14.5-15.0 stock. And that is more than one, at the track, with timers, timeslips and trapspeeds.

              Hardly untouchable for a well driven healthy H22 CB7.

                    It's a matter of opinion. As the old saying goes, you can have 2 of the 3... price, reliability, performance. The SRT-4 is likely to suffer in the reliability section, though they seem to be holding up pretty well.

                    No, they are not untouchable in stock form. They only make what, 225 or so to the wheels tops? Supposedly the factory estimate was underrated, and the given crank hp was close to the wheel hp... Still, 225whp is doable on a turbo F22 with DSM bits and a stock motor.

                    BUT, to get that in a newer car, with a warranty, and the potential for a Stage 3 upgrade that is installed by the dealer, while leaving the warranty intact... there's no better option out there. IMO, it is, or was, rather... the ultimate budget-conscious tuner car. You get to play without being totally irresponsible.

                    Of course, I would never buy one for anything but a toy now, simply because they're older, no longer made, and I've only seen ONE old man driving one... the majority of them were driven by the target market... kids that wanted to beat the living shit out of them.


                    Looks... they look nice... but that's all opinion. I actually like the looks of the standard Neon of those years as well.

                    Performance... respectable in stock form, plenty of potential.

                    Price... you get a LOT for what you pay for... for a new car especially!

                    Reliability... I have yet to see any major problems with them... but I don't expect them to last too much longer. They're budget forced induction, made by a company that is not known for reliability, in one of their biggest times of financial turmoil...

                    Interior... Better than a standard Neon... but you don't buy an SRT-4 for a plush interior... It's a cheap turbo motor with wheels.

                        srt-4 is plenty fast no doubt. its just the fact that most of the drivers made the name look bad by being very cocky. i experienced that with almost every srt4 driver out there.

                        and they make too much noise.

                          Noise is only when a crappy fart can is installed. Stock, I think they sound pretty kickass

                          But yeah, unfortunately, the SRT-4 spawned quite a few asshole ricers... It's the fastest car they could afford, so to them, it's the fastest car in the world. With the proper upgrades, a 12 second car is no joke on the streets... but it's still a FWD econobox... based on a shittier FWD econobox!

                            you can't beat the feeling of a cb boosted compared to a srt-4. You feel the boost more, pushs you in your seat more. Gs-t feels goo but doesn't push, srt-4 feels fast but iono i still love the pushing of the seat

                                hmmm..very well put..and ur very right lol well especially HERE in Tulsa..omg..bright light windshield nozzle sprays? Dood lights over here a fad..as in Neon lights license plate crap..idk all the lights u can think of lol. even the altezzas...they go ridiculous here. And yessss on shitloads of the cb7s here...i feel retarded for them. They dont even know this site exists...so i try.
