F22a6 IM -> f22b2

    F22a6 IM -> f22b2

    Does anyone know if an f22a6 intake manifold will bolt directly to a f22b2(i think) motor from a 97 accord lx?

    any problems if you were to do this swap? TPS? OBD conflicts? that sort of thing

      one of the moderators made it seem like it was a direct match, however the sensors may not be compatible

        actually i just noticed he linked to an EX accord model W/ VTEC, whereas this is an LX model

          Everyone has this misconception that because the exhaust ports on the f22bx motors are different, the intake ports are as well.

          Thats not true. It fits, and theres modifications necessary to make it fit.

            so the port pattern for f22a6 intake manifold and f22b2 intake manifold are both 0-0-0-0, while the f22a exhaust is 0-0-0-0 and the exhaust for f22b is 0--00--0 right?

              according to what accord22 said yes.

              there was a guy on honda tech who put a h23 intake manifold on an f22b1, is this the guy you are talking about?

                No. but he just posted in the thread on CD5t. Seems the coolant ports dont line up, but it fits.

                  Among other things. IMO it requires an unreliable hack job to make it fit.

                  I would be more inclined to go with an F23 IM (larger plenum) and put a bigger TB on there.

                      Yes. I havent found any project threads about it to post, to show what problems have been encountered yet.

                      but it fits as well. also, it seems an h22a TB fits on the f23 plenum.

                        the f22b1 (sohc vtec) IM should be a direct bolt onto the f22b2 head without any modification right?

                        does this IM have butterfly valves or no?

                          The f22b1 IM is just as worthless as the F22b2 IM. If you saw any gain, it wouldnt be worth the effort. Its single runner, with a tiny plenum.

                              would an h23 head on the f22b2 block be worth it? any problems with this swap?

                              im somewhat an f/h nub. idk if connecting rods should be changed or the crankshaft to go from a 2.2L block to good compression on a 2.3L head
