the reason why the Skyline can beat a Supra? Nissan came up with the Skyline to contend with the Toyota Supra. both twin turbo. but the Supra was only made for mid-top end power. the Skyline was made more to get off the line fast and still be able to hang up there in the top end area.

it can put power to the ground. all the more reason why it has AWD. to get off the line faster than the Supra then when it gets down the track still able to hang with or beat it.

The Supra and the Skyline are both fairly heavy cars. It also takes a lot more power to run a 10 than an 11. It isn't a linear progression.

i.e. The new C6 base will run mid to low 12 with 100HP less than what the Z06 needs to run about .5 seconds faster. The new 600HP Viper is BARELY faster than the Z06, despite having 95 more HP.

It is also 300lbs heavier.

You are also neglecting drag. At high speeds, drag is a bigger factor than weight, and it gets big with the cube of the speed. So a car going 200MPH has 8x the drag of that same car going 100mph.

IIRC, drag goes as v^2, it's the power needed to overcome it that goes as v^3. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Duy owned the Blue Supra and he passed it onto someone unless I heard wrong. Last I heard he was in a c5 z06. I know the IS300 has been sold for a while now.
