I had a conversation with a guy just a few hours ago about his bike. It was a 2004 Suzuki GSX-R 600. He even let me sit on it. The bike was heavy as hell, though. It weighed about 850 lbs. While sitting on it, I tried to balance the bike, but couldn't keep it balanced out. I thought I could handle the weight, but to my suprise, I couldn't. I'm thinking about getting a old school bike or a late 80's or early 90's sport bike. See the poll for the choices. Give me your honest opinion on what type of bike I should get.

dude wtf... the GSXr 600 does not weigh fucking 850lbs..it weights more like 354 lbs....go lift some weights if you think its to heavy or get a ninja 250 or maybe a scooter

Sorry I'm late on this response but 93EXaesthetic is right, they are WAY less than 400lbs. dry. With a full tank of gas it gets a little heavier but not much. If you're short then I'd recommend getting a Ninja 250R. It's an inline twin so it's very narrow. The more narrow the bike the less your legs have to go out before they go down. From there you can lower it with lowering links in the rear and pulling the forks up through the triple clamps in the front but that has adverse affects on handling. I would recommend shaving some of the foam out of the seat until you get to where you need to be height wise. If you still can't get low enough that way, then you can lower the bike slightly, but not as much as you would have to if you didn't shave the seat. The less you mess with the suspension height the better. The factory knew what they were doing when they out the bike together. When you feel you're over the 250, go to a 500R. If the ride height is a problem you could still get a 600 whatever but just adjust the suspension or "sag". I had this guy I was showing to ride on his bike, a yamaha 600, and he had his suspension adjusted. Yes you can adjust your suspension but it will have adverse affects on your bike's handling. You may not notice it that much in a street only bike that never goes fast in the turns but the difference is still there. My GSX-R 750 was raised in the back 1 inch for better turn in but the adverse affect is on height as I'm only 5'8" and tip-toe at a stop. Lowering it would do the opposite. It would cause for less sensitive turn-in but a better ride height for my short frame.My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!
