    Ibcnya 1991 civic dx

Its been a while since i posted a thread here. I guess its because i got the seadn itch when i had my cb7. Just so happens the new civic is the same color and still a four door. Its pretty much a basic civic dx, D15b2 with dual point injection. So far ive added a cold air intake, a dynamax muffler, prothane engine mount inserts, short shifter, energy suspension shifter bushings, bomz racing cat, ported DPFI box, 1.6 liter d16a6 camshaft, a d16y8 cam gear, msd external coil cap, msd blaster 2 coil, swapped the tachless dx cluster for one with a tach, pm5 ecu. New trailing arms. Ran it on the dyno and with the dpfi it put down 109ftlb of torque and 96 hp. Doesnt sound like much but remeber this engine only makes 92 flywheel hp and 89 ftlb of torque stock. Not bad for a $450 car.

    Heres the dyno pull.....

The car....picked it up for 150 bux....

    Inside mods...

    Engine mods...

    Y8 gear...

    Cold air intake....and ported box.

    Exhaust....

This car still gets 40 to a gallon on 89 pump gas. Ive got a a6 cx si manifold to do a MPFI swap with. It will get run again after that. I plan on running the engine off a PG7 ecu due to the higher rev limiter the D16a1 has, over the pm6 from the crxs.

Plan to: Do a mpfi swap, hx oem wheels, tinted windows, cb7 oem spoiler, slotted rotors, tokico blues, with eibach springs (should give me a1.5 drop). Would also like to add a decent header. Future futher along mods may include a supercharger or complet DOHC ZC swap.

D16y8 vtec head, obd1 coversion, p28 chipped ecu, boost, aluminum radiator, dual pull aftemarket fans, aem cam gear, hotter cam. If the single cam pops, maybe a ZC. Theyre pretty cheap and pack alot of bang. This is a little late night no traffic around run.

screw a ZC......Get an LS or B20 and add a supercharger.

My friend had a turbo LS 4 Door.......that thing flew. So light, so old school............so right.

I know Id really like a all motor b20 vtec but the zc fits my tranny, shift linkage, ill use my mounts, and can even use my ecu. im thinking budget you know. The D16y7 only cost me 130 bux so im gonna beat on it for a while, while I look at my options, plus if i boost what i have now and it blows the turbo setup will work on the zc.

looking good man.. i buddy had a sedan just like yours and we put a zc in it with a lightweight flywheel and six puc clutch and it was eating up quite a few ppl.. ran some nos on it and after a year it finally started to smoke. but the zc is a good swap to do for the amount of money.
