Trade the CB?

I would say, don't trade your cb7, dealers will try to give you nothing for it! I would say if you are looking for something lux, why not get a 98-02 RL or TL? If you are looking for some sport, maybe IS300? I love the look of bmw's but i hate the cost of parts and the complexity of the engines, but if you want it, then buy it, keep in mind that you have to live with it for a while.

...again your asking a board that at least 90 percent of the members will infact tell you NOT to get rid of the 'CB7'.
Fact is , it's your choice..and rather it becomes one of those really hard choices you make..get rid of a 17 year old car that no longer has your interest ( I assume this is why your setting your sights on a newer car), and you'd rather get something to start fresh.
If I were you before I even decide to pick it up, read as much about as you can via Consumer Reports (They can provide the break down on the car your interested in such as: Mechanicals , Electronics, Depreciation value (resale) etc.)
As someone else said BMWs can be quite costly if you don't keep up on the maintenance side of things.
Other than that it's entirely up to you..don't rely on the decision on this board.Henry R

I work at a BMW dealership and get to drive almost any model there is. If they offer you a good price on the trade then I might say go for it, but dealerships are known to not give you as much for your car as you would like. Example there was a mint 91 Acura GS with very low mileage and they gave the guy $1000cdn Bimmers are nice for sure and the 330I is nice, but I wouldnt trade it for your car. BMW dealerships usually offer pretty good maintenance and warranties thats one good thing and I must say that BMW's are really nice cars to sit in and drive, but I wouldnt trade my CB for it just because it doesnt feel right. I feel at home in my CB7. I've driven the an 07 Z4 even an 07 M6 and for sure they are nice, but the 330I isent that great. Now if you have the money to get a 335XI hardtop convertible coupe....that would be different, plus like was said it's an automatic Sure it has tiptronic shifting, but its still not the same. I would say wait a little and shop around, unless you are absolutely set on that particular model

Sorry if I confused anyone with the word "trading" there is about 3-4 people that really want my car and I could use the money for a down payment.
Finance guy told me payments would be about 275-ish
Seems in really good condition, and my car is already automatic so getting another automatic wouldn't really bother me
and also when I said I wanted for more of a business thing I didnt mean actual business, I'm just ready for something a little more professional/classy
dont get me wrong though, I love the CB. Its my baby.. Main thing im worried about though is repairs

Go for it if its in your price range. Just be forewarned about maintenance costs. I have drove 3 series in Taiwan its a sporty car. They have quite a bit of 330 with the M package. I love the interior plus most of the ones I drove were standard. They get up and go but in the end its up to you.

Will be getting a promotion at work within a few weeks so I'll be making enough to pretty easily afford a newer car
I think I have my eyes on a IS300's now though, minus the altezza tail lights I think they look great. Hoping to test drive one soon, anyone have experience with lexus? Sorry to change the original topic.
