    anybody race a 2001+/- lexus is300?

    hey all,

has anybody raced a more or less stock 2001 era is300? this guy I know (i'm not going to call him a friend because he isn't) has one with only an sri as a mod, and he is a total BSer anyways, but he is always dissing on the honda's and making toyota out to be the only way to go......I've got nothing against Toyota, I'd gladly buy a Camry when I want to retire and drive an auto but this guy is annoying.....I know the mature thing is to ignore him (and I have) but I was wondering if I could give him a run for his money at least with an f22a4 with some mods.

The specs I pulled on the IS300 was 215HP with 218 ft.lbs tq RWD of course and 3270 curb weight.

So hes kicking my ass with the hp and tq, but he also weighs about 350 lbs more too.

He's driving a stick at least (not another auto luxury loser) but he's not that good a driver......anybody gone head to head with one of these bad boys??

    Thanks for the help

Though it was stupid, I did pull away slowly from an IS after my H swap on the highway. I think we got up to 120ish. Never had the opportunity to race one from a dig.

i raced my buddies is 300 all the time..he had an 01 with SRI..we always race from the dig.. he beats me by like 1 car length..

ive raced him about 10 different times.. doing different methods.. nuetral dropping, holding the brake, punchin it

the f22a6 is no match.. keep in my mind my car is an auto and also my car is gutted with a CF hood

on the interstate he raped me.. i was going about 120 mph and he passed me like i was going 60...

i think the h22 will easily hang with the is 300 imo especially on the interstate

i tell him that all the time..now he is switching the game up gettting teh 1jz-gte motor swap

if you have a stick in your f22 and your gutted.. you may take him from the dig.. if you get a good launch.. and dump the clutch

make sure you post up how the race goes

yeah, if it happens......this guy is kind of like our friend who shall remain nameless who never has any proof to back his $hit up......except I believe our friend sometimes.......this dude talks so much, but it never seems to be the right time to have a showdown....

mine is a stick (and that does make a difference cuz my last accord was a 90 auto, same engine, and the 5spd is quicker) and I've got an aem sri and i'm in the middle of doing my exhaust.....what if I did an f22b head swap? there's no way I could do the h22....probly ever, but a headswap and/or h23 intake mani swap is possible by the spring......thoughts, comments? Thanks dudes

yeah, but it doesnt tell me much.....and the talk seemed mostly around the auto (which is probly more common in that type of car) this guy's got a stick, and I wanna know how I'll hold, or what might be the best kind of mod to do to at least level the field a bit.....I just want to see his face when he doesn't smoke me....I don't even need to win, just throw him off a bit

IIRC even with sticks those cars are only low-mid 15 second cars. Quick, but not fast.

honestly, in stockish form, i wouldnt even say theyre quick.

back in the day i ran one. he started out with the lead, and i still walked on him.

I didn't know what he had, thats why I asked .....I didnt bother looking at what his setup is because I posted at the beginning what the profile of each driver was and asked for opinions.....I appreciate that you offered your opinion, but I'm just looking for some feedback from people who know both cars....and I'll make sure and post the results if he ever backs his $hit up

dude thats exactly why i schooled you.. i know both cars

                        the is300 and f22a6

as far as the h22 dr luvs kudang just schooled you on how he performed against one.. his h22 has more than a few mods on the n/a setup

ive studied both cars power to weight ratio the is300 is better and has more torque.. its a straight 6

here i have a homework assignment for you ...

look up the torque of the h22 and the torque of a 2jz-ge

also find the curb weight of the cb7 and the curb weight of the is 300

h22 would be a good matchup but the f22 stands no chance unless your adding some nitrous or some boost

i still want you to race him and tell us how it goes.. then post it in the racing section.....

man, did you even read my first post??????? I wrote the hp, torque and weight of the is300 right there.....at the top of the page. I also know what engine I have, the f22a4 which has 130 hp, not the a6 which you keep mentioning, which, btw doesnt have 145 as you posted, but has 140...

I know a bit about this stuff....I didn't know what kudang had, he didnt mention it, so how was I supposed to know he had an h22? Besides, if he does, it doesnt help me as I stated in my opening post, cuz I cant afford an h22......... I appreciate that you "know both cars" but I'm not in the dark... All I ask is that you actually read the substance of my posts instead of just giving me "homework" assignments.

Sheesh, I'm not 18, I read and do the homework, I only opened this thread to gather some real world examples of how the two compare, I already had the specs. Maybe I'm not a true automotive enthusiast, but I know a fair bit, and I try to compensate for what I don't know with research.

                          Just read my posts

anyways..im your real world example.. .go out and do some damage sheesh... you asked if anyone has raced.. ive race one .. at least 13 times now.. shit what more you want mang...why do you think i raced his ass 13 times you think i like losing to a lexus.. ?? a rich boy car... ?? well from a dig you may have a chance.. he got beat by a mitsubishi mirage with an eclipse engine swap from a dig..

haha.. ok so youve done your homework.. go race his ass please!!!!

given that you have a f22, you will definetly lose.
