    1993 Mercury Tracer Cig Lighter

Alright. So my little sister drives a 1993 Mercury Tracer. The cigarette (sp?) lighter does not work. Didnt know if anyone on here happened to have a wiring diagram for that or know what I should check to get it to work again. She keeps bugging me about it now that she has finally ditched the loser she called a bf who always said he would fix it. Needless to say that never happened, so now it is up to good ole big brother (thats me)... Any help would be appreciated. She has the haynes manual for it but there is no mention of the Cig lighter. Just thought maybe someone would be able to help me out. I have a volt meter and basic electrical tools like that. Thanks in advance ... Later

it's just a power and a ground. Pull it out and run 2 wires to the battery terminal.
Finally Up and Running. Numbers to Follow. Check my MR

get to the wires behind it and use your meter to see if theres power, if not check the fuses and fun a new wire if need be. if there is power its possible the cig lighter recepticle (dont know what else to call it) is bad.

tell your little sister she shouldn't be smoking!

nah... you could easily goto wal mart and get some wire, an in-liine fuse holder, and a new lighter housing... then just run the wires right to + and ground.
im fixin to do this in the CB7 shortly as a second plug.

No its not that shes a smoker. Her and I both just got new cell phones and she wants a car charger but since the lighter wont work there is no power to charge the cell phone. Will probably tear it apart tomorrow after she gets home from work. Thanks for all the tips. I already have checked the fuses and thats not the probelm so I think its something internal. Later
