Yes you're right the V6 engines were then put into later generations of Galant and Galant wagon (Legnum). Indeed, the Galant VR-4 was the first "evolution" lol... I never thought of it like that!

Well technically, the lancer has been around since 79, the EVO was formed in 92, the same production year as the Galant VR4, but by this point the Lancer was in it's 6th Generation
The Galant VR-4 was created in 1988 but was limited as a Mofo even in Japan, Now the 92 VR4 galant does host the 4g63T but host a different destroked model than the 4g63 found in the Talon's/Eclipse/ Laser/Evo's the Galant vr4 only boasted 160HP off the show room floor, this was mainly caused by the lower model turbo 13g, smaller intake manifold, restrictive exhaust system. All of which was easy to fix since the Eclipse and (Cyclone) intake manifolds were readily available and a simple change not to mention the eclipse turbo and down pipe, cat back.
If you want one extremely extremely rare car the Mitsubishi Eclipse on early production year of 89, was made in an extremely rare condition, 50 Gullwing Eclipse's were made and ran a tag of 50k American but were only sold in Japan.

My next project car will be a 87 WB Conquest/Starion I'm a DSM fiend.

you sure? cause you need to check your vr4 info. they had the same 2.0 4g63t, the same 14b turbo, same exhaust manifold, same intake manifold, etc as any 1g dsm. They were also rated at the same 195 hp.

as for mine, I sold it and now I miss it. Dunno if I want another one though because I feel like I need to find a perfect one which is near impossible. Also these gas prices are killer.
