I cant stand busas, so big and ugly, why not buy a cruiser. The new kawi zx-14 is looking the same also My next bike will be a 600 cbr unless i get a good deal on something before that.

exactly, im gonna sound like a pussy in about a second, but i guess if it helps you be safer then so be it. Ive been ridding motorcycles all my life, given im only 19. Ive been dirtbiking ever since i was 8. and driven many street bikes.Let me tell you im no light fellow. weighing in at over 230 lbs i can get a GSX-r up on one wheel with as much weight as i could over the tank in 4th gear. Unbelievable, I have never bought a street bike because its a fact you will wipe out and die eventually. If its not your fault itll be someone elses, but the situation still stands falling off your bike on streets at any speed is never gonna be a fun experience. Please at least wear your leathers and your helmet, boots gloves etc. Be careful you never know when your on that one backroad where that dead squirell may be or where that pothole may lie. Be careful man and like i said may god bless you. You must have some parents to not talk some sense into your young brain! It might sound like a good idea to ride now, but as you get older youll realize how dumb it really is. PS: I hope to god this isnt your first street bike, and for gods sake please tell me your familiar with the RR race geometry? peace and be safe

I agree with ya man... well, more on the side of how buying a bike this big only exponentially increases your odds. Thats the whole reason bikes are so "dangerous" is because people who have never ridden a bike think that a brand new 600 is a nice easy baby bike, and a liter bike is a bike for when you want to go faster. In reality, you will NEVER use most of the available power of a 600 these days. Unfortunately, its mostly for looks/being "cool".

All other countries use motorcycles a hell of a lot more than here, and have no problem. If I can find the link to the japanese riding test to get a 600cc bike, i'll post it up. Needless to say, 99 out of 100 people here would not pass. Most of the people I see riding big "macho" bikes cant even balance the things, if they are going slower than 5mph, they have to put their feet down, they cant even do u-turns.

The sad fact of the matter is.. people dont learn until they go down hard for their first time. THen they start to remember all those people that told them to start smaller (if they are still alive). At the sportbike forums, its the same thing over and over... a noob will come on boasting about his new bike, how they are the greatest rider blah blah. dont hear from them for a while, and they either wrecked it and got some sense... or they never come back.

However riding a motorcycle is an awesome feeling, just gotta be careful and use your head before you step on the bike.

But man, hopefully you gear up before each ride, I know I do, and I have 1000x less to worry about.

And here's the same coming from me.
I hope you know how to ride, or we will be seeing the aftermath of your fatal accident....

NOW GO POP SOME EFFING WHEELIES

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

enjoy and be safe. honda sportbikes are probably the most comfortable ones out there, especially if you're new to riding. they have longer frames when compared to other sportbikes such as a TL1000, GSX-Rs, R1 to name a few. so handling on the hondas feel much more comfortable and easier to learn on as well.

                          btw, beautiful bike

Opps brandon and one eye. I probably shoulda been more specific. Yeah if you are taking out a loan you need full covarage, but if you own your bike outright you dont need it at all. Still kinda stupid.

I was talking to my agent and i was asking him about insurance, and i told him that ive been riding around in Wa and OR and he said to be careful in oregon because in OR if they catch you with no insurance they can even impound your car!

My mom worries about me riding my old school cruiser, but my dad loves it! he is a total bike head! w0000t! i just use it to cruise around town.

no i paid cash for it, so its all mine. ill tell you that sticker price was 11,299, but i never pay sticker price. as for gear, i have full leathers, boots, gloves, helmet, and a spine protector. i cant go past 5000 rpm till 600 miles (break in period) but even going under 5000 rpm the thing scares the shit outa me. Im very cautious about my speed tho, cuz im still a little paranoid about the monstrous motor between my legs. i love it. i cant stop riding it, but its not gunna be my DD. Its a stand by til the accord is fixed.

not that those bikes don't kick ass and shit, but you know you're gonna die right? those are open caskets on wheels man. DEATH i says! it's just too hard not to go 200 all the time.
