So wait, volvos mostly have I4's, I5's, or I6's? I'm confused

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

Older Volvo's only had I4's of the NA and turbo variety. In the early 80's some Volvo's had V6's made by Renault IIRC. They were complete junk as were the diesel engines. The I4 was still the main engine at this time. The I4 was the main engine found in Volvo's until it disappeared with the along with the 200/700 series. Somewhere in the early 90's the I6 became the top of the line engine. When 200/700 series went away and the 800 series came about, that's when the I5 appeared in NA and turbo versions. The 960 had the I6. Now that Ford owns Volvo they decided their flagship needed something more so they stuck a V8 into the S80 (not sure who makes the V8 but its not a Volvo engine).

This is quick and dirty and completely accurate but close enough for a Honda board
