Rabbitman's car. As requested by pwrusr.

My rabbit spent it's entire life until about 8 years ago, being towed behind a motor home. When I bought it it had about 60,000 kms on it. All original.
    8 years later:
    2l 16v from a 1990 Passat.
    T03 turbo from a 1984 Nissan 300z
Intercooler from a 1987 GN converted to front mount.
    Port and polish.
    Balanced to 10,000 rpm.
    Forged rods, with OEM pistons.
Shrick cams, 278 intake, 286 exhaust.
Custom 2.5 inch exhaust with Hooker street muffler.
Rad from a 1990 caravan. Don't ask, it fits and works great.
    Stage 1 Neuspeed clutch.
Plymouth GLH wheels, polished and machined to fit on VW hubs.
Zender 3 piece rear hatch wing.
Interior was stripped as the car was originally supposed to be an IDRC super street car, but they changed the years of eligibility to nothing older than 1988.
    New lightweight racing carpet, black.
    Corbeau racing seats. (4)
8 point cage with 5 point belts for all 4 seats.
Panasonic head unit with alpine crossover eclipse amp and MTX 12" sub in custom FG enclosure in the spare tire well. Built it myself. Sounds awesome.
Exterior has Cabriolet front fenders, grill, and 4 round headlight conversion.
Hood has Pontiac Sunbird turbo hood vents, placed over the turbo, for extra cooling. You should see the heat coming out during the last few weeks!
Other than that, the paint is flat black, in honour of the old school hot rods.
Any ways if anyone has any questions, ask away.
BTW I can to this site because I'm looking for a second car for my wife to drive, and I like the early 90's Accords.
I'm hoping to get a digital camera and scanner soon so I can post some timeslips and pics. Best e.t. 12.36@116

No dual Vr6's no care I'm sure you've seen that old school MkI golf vid.

I love the old school Golf/Rabbits that have the cabriolet body kit added that are done up properly. My family used to have an 82 Quantum. Picked it from from the factory brand new. Had GTI wheels. It handled like a mutha... Too bad it was a B2 chassis, and only audi's and the VW Fox shared that same config...

Started out with a 74 hp 1.7 liter, and after that motor died, we got a Tectonics Tuning 2.0L from VW Brazil. 125 hp 8v gti head on it. That thing shredded the transmission!

                    You on the Vortex?

Naw I never bothered to register. But I did most of my research on my engine there. That 1.7l was a great engine. I sold the one out of my car to a guy restoring a cabriolet. Last I heard, he had turboed it, but then autoed it. How are these people shredding trannys? I've had the same one for four years runing almost 400 ft lbs and never broken it. Rear tranny mounts however....

3 speed automagic... Maybe the 1.7 is ok in an A1 chassis, but in the B2, it's waaaay underpowered. A 2.0 should have been the minimum
